Description

We are seeking a full-time skilled Medical Assistant in our Behavioral Health department who provides high-quality healthcare to community members. The right candidate is committed to improving the health and well-being of patients through compassionate care and a patient centered approach. A strong desire to provide health education and assist in the removal of barriers to health care will ensure success in this role. 

General job duties:

  • Assist healthcare providers in various clinical procedures and examinations. 
  • Take and record patient vital signs, medical history, and chief complaints. 
  • Prepare patients for examinations and treatments. 
  • Administer medications and injections as directed by physicians. 
  • Perform EKGs, phlebotomy, and other diagnostic tests. 
  • Maintain and update patient medical records accurately and confidentially. 
  • Ensure a clean and organized clinical environment. 
  • Provide patients with education and instructions regarding their conditions and treatment plans. 
  • Assist with front-office duties such as scheduling appointments and verifying insurance information.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent 
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program, preferred 
  • Current Medical Assistant certification (CMA/RMA) preferred. 
  • CPR/BLS certification. 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and electronic health records (EHR) systems. 
  • Compassion and empathy for patients. 
  • Previous experience in a clinical setting is a plus.
