The Aurora Infrastructure and Cyber Associate Director is responsible for overall infrastructure technical direction, technical execution, and people leadership for the Aurora portion of the Infrastructure and Transformation (I&T) organization.

Infrastructure and Transformation delivers this expertise to the broad range of RIS SC2 programs. These programs can range from very small (1-2 infrastructure engineers) to very large programs with near 100. 

Technology area responsibilities include:

  • Design and implementation of Information Technology including full stack, compute, network, and storage; design, integration, and test of computing systems and related infrastructure. This infrastructure includes full stack development, IDAM, security, health management, data archive, platform orchestration, workflow management and the associated deployment automation. 
  • Design / Transition to Cloud Architectures, Design of computing architectures to support containerization and microservice architectures, multi-level security, and Authentication, authorization systems.
  • Design of automated deployment scripting, support to SEIT, and workflow /pipeline management support for executing programs. 
  • The Associate Director will execute the strategic roadmap for I&T – including implementation of standards and shared processes. The Associate Director will lead the Aurora I&T discipline in support of new business capture, execution of large, prime contractor and sub-contractor programs, workforce planning and development, and the evolution of organizational capabilities to meet changing business demands.
  • Responsibilities:
  • Support development and execute goals, strategy, and direction to ensure alignment with the RIS Engineering and business strategy
  • Responsible for workforce planning and development
  • Accountable for I&T aspects of new business capture, proposal development, BOE generation, program execution, technology advancement and process maturity/advancement
  • Partners with other engineering disciplines, Supply Chain Management, and Manufacturing & Depot Operations to ensure the organization provides affordable, cost-effective solutions to support RIS business growth & strategy
  • Responsible for the management of the organization through effective supervision and leadership of first line management professionals. Define the organizational structure and determine the appropriate allocation of subordinate management responsibilities
  • Manage allocated budgets to meet all commitments
  • Support development and maintenance of policies and processes, and continuous improvement of the discipline using organizational metrics to drive improvements while ensuring compliance to processes.
  • Reviews I&T engineering program activities via Engineering Program Reviews (EPR). This includes review of metrics and ensuring action plans are in place where appropriate
  • Provides guidance, coaching and direction to Section Managers on performance management, career development to include training, rotation, and mentoring
  • Responsible for the execution of the Performance Evaluation Process and the annual Compensation Process for the organization.

Required Skills:

  • Engineering background including detailed understanding of System Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Information Assurance, and Information Technology
  • Significant experience in the management of large organizations
  • Proven interest and competency in engineering career development, and a history of success in increasingly challenging assignments
  • Working knowledge of EVMS, workforce planning, application of IPDS / EPIC / Stages
  • Proven ability to influence other leaders and drive organizational improvements
  • Strong judgment and decision-making abilities as well as excellent follow through and execution skills
  • Working knowledge of new business capture and program life cycle
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Persuasive communication and leadership skills
  • Lead by example by being a champion of respect, diversity and inclusion, ethical conduct and interdependent execution
  • Minimum of 12 years of progressive experience in engineering and/or program management
  • Raytheon Six Sigma Specialist
  • Current/Active TS/SBI clearance

Desired Skills:

  • Experience working on large contracts in a prime contractor role
  • Experience in Program Management or Program Engineering
  • International program experience

Required Education (including Major):

Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 12 years of prior relevant experience

Master’s Degree desired. 

In compliance with Colorado’s Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary range for this role is $129,000 to $265,000; however, Raytheon Technologies considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, education/training, and key skills.
