This position is to manage all aspects of IP maintenance fee acquisition, analysis and validation along with assisting in implementation and verification of IP Rule calculations. Additionally, this position supports the global sales team by creating IP Payments quotes to facilitate the close of IP Payment service opportunities. The IP focus is for both Patent and Trademarks Fees. This individual must be a critical thinker, with a strong attention to detail and extreme focus on accuracy.

About the Team 

Our team is responsible for providing periodic releases of IP law updates into Clarivate in-house IP Renewal Laws software in accordance with new laws or law changes. The main purpose of this role is to contribute & assist coordinating the analysis, interpretation, implementation, testing of new or modified intellectual property fees into the law engine utilized by Clarivate proprietary products and services. Subsequently, the law updates are published to internal stakeholders including release notes and other related documentation. This enables our Customer Care teams to seamlessly continue to support customers to keep their IP portfolio up to date. Additionally, this individual will support the manager in working with the product teams on existing and new technical solutions. This role will report to the Senior Manager, IP Product. 

About You – Experience, Education, Skills, and Accomplishments 

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in education (Accounting or Finance degree is an advantage)
  • Proficient with strong Numerical skills
  • 3+ years identifying and analyzing data in detail to reach conclusions
  • Experience in the IP Industry specific to patent and trademark intellectual property law and payment interpretation and application a plus
  • Critical thinker and analytical, with an eye for detail and proven accuracy, energetic, self-starter who works well independently
  • Ability to collaborate in a diverse environment and across multiple cultures a must
  • Proven ability leverage business savvy, drive for results and manage across boundaries, strong planning, time management and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
  • Expertise in MS Excel (creating spreadsheets and using advanced formulas) with the ability to present data using detailed reports and charts

What will you be doing in this role? 

Secure and Analyze official and agent service fees

  • Responsible for the acquisition, interpretation and coordination of IP maintenance fees, including requirements, constraints, deliverables, project plans. 
  • Responsible for communication between all parties involved in an implementation of a fee change
  • Contribute to implementation and testing of IP Rule updates
  • Assist in performing fee integrity checks including audit of current fees and development of maintenance process going forward
  • Collaborate with team to validate IP rules and fees are properly aligned
  • Develop and maintain expertise of IP rules and fees as well as investigate and analyze IP fee/rule changes
  • Compile, verify accuracy and sort information according to priorities to prepare source data for computer entry, Interpret Intellectual Property Office and agent fee schedules
  • Apply the applicable fee updates using in-house maintenance application, review data for deficiencies or errors, correct any incompatibilities if possible and check output
  • Secure and maintain high level of expertise in fee maintenance applications and supporting tool, troubleshoot, analyze, and assist to resolve trademark fee issues and answer questions
  • Collaborate closely with the Operational & Data Processing, Customer Care & IP Laws Customer Solutions team to help facilitate prompt comprehensive responses to our Internal Stakeholders and/or clients, including communicating directly with the internal stakeholders on Fee issues and education

Hours of Work 

Full Time w/ occasional flexibility to accommodate meetings with other time zones/regions (namely US, Europe & Noida)
