BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, operations, engineering, analytics or related field
  • 2+ years of Excel or Tableau (data manipulation, macros, charts and pivot tables) experience

Amazon is seeking a Business Analyst to drive large scale projects, programs, and technical initiatives. In this role, you will be responsible for converting data into actionable business insights. The ideal candidate is an analysis expert who leverages a variety of data platforms and analytical tools to provide timely, meaningful, and consumable information. They build deep contextual and domain knowledge, and ensure data quality and build scalable tools. They communicate findings with the most effective and influential methods.

As a Business Analyst, you will be responsible for supporting the medium to long-term planning. This role will be responsible for partnering with multiple stakeholders to forecast the business needs for the next 3 years. A critical part of this role is to develop stable models and to be able to take the stabilized models to the next level from an automation standpoint. This role requires exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with Operations, Finance, Recruiting, and HR stakeholders in a high-pressure environment. You will manage a high-visibility program and partner with all levels of leadership to exercise sound judgment where clear guidelines may not exist.

Key job responsibilities

  • Performing data analysis/modelling using 6-18 month range to analyze capacity gaps and work cross functionally with partner teams on recommendations to solve.
  • Responsible for providing visibility to program status (issues, risks, metrics, etc.) on an ongoing basis to leadership, all stakeholders and team members.
  • Maintain a global scope in building mechanisms and projects partnering with leaders in both US, CN and EU regions, thereby sharing best practices and standardization.
  • Comfortable with ambiguities, conflicting priorities and multi-cultural and matrix environment.
  • Some travel will be required for this role as partner teams are placed globally. This travel is not expected to exceed 25%.

A day in the life

The successful candidate will partner with cross functional teams to develop and analyze long term (6-18 month horizon) solutions for all Global Logistics operations which include, Amazon Managed Imports and Domestic transportation and Warehouse Transfers.

The candidate will think holistically about input planning collection and output supply chain solutions to provide recommendations/modeling on long term capabilities. The leader will drive reduction in supply chain costs, while improving lead time and reliability. This person will help develop the analytics needed to build out plans and work with partner teams to drive network goals and a cohesive customer focused based execution strategy.

Strong candidates will have a background in Global logistics and fulfillment operations along with data modelling and technology solutions that can navigate the shifting requirements of a complex supply chain network to deliver results.

This role requires the Business Analyst to collaborate with multiple cross functional stakeholders (both internal and external) on aligning strategy that provides significant business impact. This person should show good judgement and foster a constructive dialogue, harmonize discordant views and build consensus across multiple teams independently.

The candidate should be able to communicate ideas effectively, verbally and in writing. The successful candidate will be able to retrieve and analyze data using Excel, Quicksight, SQL or other data management systems.

About the team

The Inbound Transportation Mid-Range Planning team is responsible for all mid-range (QXG/OPX) plans for the Amazon Global Logistics (AGL) organization. This includes Direct Imports (DI), FBA Imports, WePay, Partner Carrier Program (PCP), and Warehouse Transfers (WHT). We work across partner teams to develop plan inputs, validate entitlements, and drive overall improvements within each planning cycle. We drive the business by identifying areas of risk and opportunity within the plans and partnering across teams to develop roadmaps to increase profitability.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • MBA and work experience in a technical field is highly desired
  • 2+years of experienced developing requirements and creating requirements documents and process flows
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Working knowledge of LEAN and SIX SIGMA methodologies and familiarity with Oracle business intelligence tools is a plus
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of SQL, Perl, Unix/Linux, Visual Basic or other programming languages are a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills complemented with the ability to problem solve independently

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $47,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $107,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
