Job Specific Information: In this assignment, the physical therapist provides early intervention services to eligible children and families through a family/caregiver coaching model in the home, childcare, and community settings. The position includes flexible scheduling of 4 additional required workdays in the summer to meet the needs of children and families. Requires daily travel between locations.

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:

Assesses, plans, and implements physical therapy services for children from birth to 21 and provides consultation to parents and team members.

CERTIFICATE LICENSE:

Current licensure from the Maryland State Board of Physical Therapy Examiners.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES:

Working knowledge of the field of physical therapy, child development, educational disabilities, and legal regulations regarding early intervention and special education. Ability to apply skills to school-based therapy by relating intervention programs to curricular outcomes. Ability to provide early intervention services in the home. Effective oral and written communication, human relations, and time management skills.

EDUCATION, TRAINING, and EXPERIENCE:

Degree from an accredited college or university in physical therapy. Additional knowledge of neuro-developmental treatment and educational based therapy desirable.
