Role Overview 

As a Web Designer you will play a pivotal role in shaping the online presence of community financial institutions, building sites that serve to be more than a website, but their online branch. We're looking for a talented Web Designer with expertise in CMS systems and a knack for crafting visually captivating web site pages and elements to join our creative team. The designer collaborates with copywriters, front end developers, and launch managers to ensure finished designs meet high quality standards and are completed on time. In the absence of direct conversations, the designer coaches internal clients (Launch Managers, Project Managers, and Marketing Team) via written communication. 

Responsibilities 

  • Infuse the Patch Values into your work ethic, every day and every interaction. 
  • Create visually engaging and user-centric website designs, including home page comps, landing pages, and internal pages. 
  • Ensure an exceptional user experience by designing intuitive navigation, user interfaces, and interactive elements. 
  • Present and explain design concepts to clients, incorporating their feedback and ensuring their vision aligns with best practices in web design. 
  • Develop designs that are responsive and accessible across various devices and browsers. 
  • Participate in client calls to inform client on design process and decisions. 
  • Give useful feedback to more junior designers to help elevate their work. 
  • Ensure that designs not only look great, but perform great as well (defined as being easy to use and lead to sales conversions). 
  • Maintain knowledge of current best practices for web usability. 
  • Excel at every phase of design process (conception, comp presentation, execution, design QA, maintenance). 
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, content creators, and project managers, to ensure seamless website development. 
  • Participate in client calls to inform client on design process and decisions. 
  • Participate in peer reviews with other designers and help improve. 
  • Stay updated with industry trends and emerging design technologies, integrating innovative concepts into your work. 
  • Understanding and proficiency in Content Management Systems (CMS). 

Qualifications 

  • 4+ years professional design experience. 
  • Expert proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite in Mac platform; specifically, Photoshop, Illustrator and XD. 
  • Understanding and proficiency in Content Management Systems (CMS). 
  • Experience with Microsoft PowerPoint and presentations. 
  • Demonstrated knowledge of best practices for web usability. 
  • Takes initiative to determine and address the needs of the organization. 
  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects with strict deadlines. 
  • Strong communication skills in a cross-functional environment. 
  • Attention to detail and passion for quality. 
  • Willingness to keep pace with the latest internet technologies and design innovations. 
  • Impressive portfolio. 
  • Preferred familiarity with JIRA. 
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment. 
  • Experience in the financial industry a plus. 
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without restrictions. 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS 

  • Sitting for extended periods of time; approximately 5-6 hours per day 
  • Simultaneous use of hand, wrist and fingers 
  • Daily operation of standard office equipment 
  • Frequent use of oral communication to perform work 
  • Lifts and moves up to 20 pounds occasionally
