Position Summary...

What you'll do...

Membership is core to the success of Sam's Club. We are seeking a dynamic leader to join our team as the Director of Membership Development and Operations. This role is ideal for an operations and new business development leader with a proven track record of driving new growth, specifically in the membership space. This role will own the strategy and implementation of the new sponsored membership program focused on acquiring corporate partners looking to add membership as an employee benefit. Additionally, you will be the face of membership to our operators and work directly with the regional leadership teams to ensure all 600 Sam’s Club locations are executing and delivering the membership P&L. This position will oversee a team of sales and operations support leaders with a focus on new business development and in-club membership execution.

This position is based in the Bentonville, Arkansas home office.

What You'll Do

  • Work directly with the operations leadership team to identify membership performance opportunities and deliver an action plan that drives P&L results across all seven Sam’s Club regional teams.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of membership training and roadmap for our 600 in-club Membership Associates responsible for day-to-day membership growth and performance.
  • Design the content and execution of the Membership Summit (two day onsite with 600 club associates focused on sales training, membership growth strategy and execution).
  • Lead the strategic vision of the Sponsored Membership Program designed to acquire more members through corporate partnerships.
  • Lead a team of ~5 associates dedicated to sponsored membership and regional membership performance.

What You'll Bring

  • 8+ years in business development, operations, membership, retail or related fields
  • Master's degree in business preferred.
  • Proven experience driving new business growth through B2B sales.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills
  • A track record of success developing sales tools and training at scale.
  • You excel in an environment where you have the freedom, scope, and responsibility to identify growth opportunities and implement strategies that drive results
  • Kindness and a growth mindset.
