Within the Group, you will join the Group Chief Underwriting Office as the Head of Pricing Models & Analytics.

Context & Major Challenges

The newly created Global Chief Underwriting Office will be accountable for establishing, enabling, and driving profit and growth through Product Underwriting Strategy, Portfolio Design and Technical Underwriting Excellence in partnership with the AXA Entities, for both Commercial and Retail, through:

  • Portfolio Design Steering
  • Underwriting Product Strategy and Profitability Measurement
  • Technical Underwriting Guidance
  • Pricing Models, Platforms and Analytics
  • Risk Appetite deployment
  • Ceded Reinsurance strategy design and purchasing

As part of the CUO Office you will be an integral part of the Group Pricing Team partnering directly with underwriting and executive management as we look to develop and deliver our strategic objectives.

Key Accountabilities

  • As part of Technical Excellence Plan, develop and execute on an enterprise pricing model strategy that enables a strong link to data (input and output), analytics and technology.
  • Lead the development of Pricing models and build towards globally consistent and flexible models to allow for real time updates to reflect dynamic and changing conditions.
  • Facilitate global pricing tool usage through sharing best practices, developing users guides and maintaining records within central model database.
  • Drive the TDO strategy with regard to technical pricing and validate pricing platforms and methodologies.
  • Lead Global Pricing Models and Analytics strategy, researching new strategic approaches to modelling and pricing methodologies to improve model performance.
  • Engage with UW/Pricing to solve complex problems, and educate and enable Pricing Actuaries in advanced analytics. 
  • Advance data quality and data collecting through the pricing model strategy.
  • Identify and evaluate new external partnerships to improve technical pricing, processes and model performance.
  • Develop and validate adherence to Pricing Model Standards including best practices and technical standards for governance and enforce the execution of these commitments.
  • Act as a key member and influencer on the Group Pricing leadership team, advocating for advanced pricing and analytics tools and leading the conversation for technical improvement and change.
  • Develop a strong network of relationships with internal and external stakeholders to influence technical Pricing model improvements globally and drive consistency in approach where appropriate.
  • Strengthen the Global Pricing Family through formal, regular Pricing Forums and Senior Leaders ExCom community.

Experience

  • Fully Certified Actuary
  • Extensive experience in leading pricing model & analytics strategy within an AXA entity or other company.
  • Ability to directly influence data, technology, pricing model and analytics strategies, as well as setting the technical culture.
  • Proven experience interacting with Senior leaders and evolving in matrixed environments.
  • Experience in driving change and building relationships.
  • Proven experience in leading multicultural and multifaced geographically spread teams.

Language

  • Fluent English
