Responsibilities

As a Senior Business Intelligence Developer, you are entrusted with the critical responsibility of transforming complex datasets into actionable insights that drive our business forward. You will uphold the highest standards of data quality at every phase of the process. Your role will involve participating in rigorous Unit Testing, QA/UAT processes to guarantee the accuracy and dependability of solutions. In addition to project-driven tasks, you'll frequently undertake ad-hoc data analyses, addressing the dynamic needs of the business. You'll thrive within our Agile and SCRUM methodologies, working closely with diverse teams to achieve timely and impactful deliverables. You will be customer-focused and will continually strive to understand, anticipate, and surpass the expectations of our clients, ensuring our solutions are precisely tailored to their unique needs.

Candidates must be able to report into one of the following NYBCe locations:New York City, NY; Kansas City, Missouri; St. Paul, Minnesota; Providence , RI and Newark, DE.

  • Work with stakeholders throughout the organization to identify opportunities for leveraging company data to drive business solutions.
  • Partner with the data engineering and analytics team to define measurement approaches, quantify and evaluate success, develop KPIs, and guide tracking efforts for ongoing measurement and reporting.
  • Tackle complex and ambiguous analysis projects: provide clarity and leverage tools to answer complicated business questions.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting: Analyze complex data sets and convert them into information suitable for business users.
  • Dashboard & Visualization: Design and produce high-quality, interactive dashboards.
  • Continuous Improvement: Monitor performance and recommend improvements to existing BI systems.
  • Training: Train end-users on new reports and dashboards.
  • Data Management: Ensure data quality and data governance while dealing with data sources.
  • Documentation: Produce relevant documentation on data sources, dashboards, and data models.

Qualifications

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Information technology, Computer Science, or closely related field

Related Experience

10+ years of industry experience in business/statistical analysis, data analytics, report development, or comparable analysis role, including business intelligence tools, techniques, and technology.

Experience with Tableau or equivalent tools to create impactful visualizations and interactive dashboards is required.

Experience with SQL is required. Experience with paginated reporting (SSRS, Bold Reports) is required.

License/Certification

Certification in Agile / SCRUM Methodology preferred.

Knowledge

  • Applied knowledge of business analysis, data analysis, process analysis, visualization, report development, data governance, and best practices.
  • Expert knowledge of SQL and one of the following: Python or R.
  • Expert knowledge of report design and development process
  • Expert knowledge of visualization and reporting (Tableau, PowerBI, Frameworks)
  • Must possess a strong understanding of statistical methods and their application in data analysis. Including the ability to interpret and communicate statistical findings in a business context.
  • Intermediate knowledge of data quality management
  • Intermediate knowledge of Agile principles

For applicants who will perform this position in New York City or Westchester County, the proposed annual salary is $ 140,000.00 p/yr to $150,000.00 p/yr. For applicants who will perform this position outside of New York City or Westchester County, salary will reflect local market rates and be commensurate with the applicant’s skills, job-related knowledge, and experience.
