Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the design of new products to improve efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure that designs of product specifications, prototypes and test results meet both process and product requirements.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams including designers in Japan and US to ensure the successful transition of products from concept to production.
  • Manage products throughout their lifecycle, including design, modifications, upgrades, and maintenance.
  • Drive innovation in product design with updated industry trends and emerging technologies including new supplier development to deliver the critical component for the new product design.
  • Manage project timelines and budgets effectively to ensure on-time delivery and cost-efficient product development.

Qualifications

REQUIRED:

  • A bachelor's degree or Master of Engineering / Science degree.
  • A minimum of 5-7 years in experience or related field.

PREFERRED:

  • Direct experiences in Product Engineering that includes manufacturing scope from HGA, HSAs, HDD level.
  • Some experiences in HAMR or LASERs Diode for HDD manufacturing.
  • Fluent in both written and spoken English.
  • Good work attitude and ethics.
  • Good intercommunication and report writing skill.

SKILLS:

  • Product design, risk and failure analysis (QFD, FMEA, 8D)
  • Data Analysis Tools such as JMP, Minitab, SQL.
  • CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and other relevant engineering tools.
  • New Product Engineering documents (e.g. Part Number, BOM, RCO, NRCO, ECR, SBR, STR, MRR, CMS).
