Key Qualifications

  • Leading teams of developers to define new media streaming system architecture
  • Build consensus around technical proposals with key stakeholders within the team and with other cross-functional teams
  • Experience building media systems and multi-device communication systems
  • Definition and development of media SDK for 3rd party embedded devices, including API design
  • An eye toward building extensible architecture.
  • 5+ years of working a part of a professional software development team
  • Experience with real time audio and/or video stack
  • Deep understanding of multithreading programming
  • Self driven and thrives when facing open ended tasks
  • Strong communication skills
  • Writes beautiful and readable object-oriented code in C/C++ and/or Objective C
  • Experience with Cocoa programming
  • Agile software development
  • Optional experience with common security protocols

Description

Our team is responsible for implementing software services around audiovisual media and realtime media distribution systems. Our media engine is used for AirPlay audio, video, and screen mirroring services across our devices. We are looking for an excellent engineering manager to join our team and help develop our AirPlay engine for our iOS, tvOS and OS X products. The ideal candidate should have seasoned team lead experience and posses an excellent conceptual understanding and working knowledge of media system and networking technologies. System level software design experience is also essential. The candidate needs to be able to work in a fast paced environment, operate gracefully under stress, and be self driven to be effective in an environment with little overhead.

Education

BS or MS level engineering degree required

Additional Requirements

Network protocol design Unix networking including sockets API Network configuration protocols (e.g. DNS, DHCP, routing, NAT, IP firewalls) Network clocks and synchronization techniques Experience in developing and maintaining an API for multiple clients Experience with using and developing media libraries especially for mobile platforms
