Job Description

TED-Ed is looking for an enthusiastic, multi-talented Production and Publishing Assistant to join our Production and Growth & Social Team. TED-Ed Animation is currently dubbing our library of animated lessons into multiple languages (Spanish, Hindi, Mandarin, Japanese, Arabic, French, German, Hebrew, Thai, Portuguese and Swahili.) The Production Assistant is pivotal in helping our production and publishing workflows run smoothly across all our various languages. This includes coordinating asset movement between TED-Ed and our vendors, maintaining our database, and all-around tracking of each project as it goes from production to post-production to publishing . The Production Assistant will also help with the launch of newly created TED-Ed YouTube channels in a variety of languages as well as maintain current localized TED-Ed YouTube channels.

RESPONSIBILITIES 

Production

  • Assist in preparing TED-Ed’s database for new dubbing projects
  • Ensuring the database reflects the most current and accurate information
  • Collect and organize media and production assets to be sent to studios
  • Video files, audio stems, SRTs, English scripts, “call to action” scripts, and credits
  • Metadata (English title, description, and thumbnails)
  • Track TED-Ed's dubbing database to monitor the production status of assets across multiple partnerships, languages, and vendors
  • Assist in maintaining production and publication schedules
  • Oversee the uploading of the work-in-progress files from dubbing studios and confirm delivery
  • Prepare review links and inform the production team when work-in-progress files are ready for review
  • Quality assurance review for technical issues for each title
  • Consolidate and communicate feedback to dubbing studios
  • Confirm final files are accounted for before preparing for publication
  • Identify and retrieve any missing files from studio
  • Archive files onto TED-Ed’s server
  • Provide assistance with minor post-production editing tasks as needed.
  • Edit footage from recorded talks and community calls to create promotional materials for our Student and Educator Programs.(Proficiency with Adobe Premiere, Photoshop, and familiarity with After Effects ) 

Publishing 

  • Manage the end-to-end publication workflow
  • Optimizing processes for scheduling and publishing videos across multiple languages 
  • Ensure all creative assets have accurate metadata, including titles, descriptions, tags and thumbnails
  • Schedule and publish videos on designated channels, adhering to the content calendar
  • Engage with subscriber comments, messages and feedback on published videos to enhance community interaction
  • Analyze and report key performance metrics using YouTube analytics 
  • Track and update publication records in TED-Ed’s database to maintain accurate and organized information

Qualifications

Required:

  • Proficiency with the Adobe Creative Suite especially, Premiere & Photoshop
  • Understanding of the animation production pipeline
  • Proficiency in Google Suite 
  • Experience in database management and tracking
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Incredibly detail-oriented and loves creating system structures 
  • Fundamental knowledge of the YouTube platform
  • Can work independently and feels comfortable taking initiative on new projects
  • Ability to work within tight production schedules
  • Tested ability to multitask without sacrificing organizational details
  • Solid understanding of international youth/education-related spaces preferred
  • Must be able to work 10-6pm Eastern Standard Time

Additional Information

SALARY: $23-$27/ hour.

TIME COMITTMENT: This role is a temporary postion working full time hours (40 hours/week).
