Job Description


The Educational Training, Evaluation, Assessment & Measurement (E-TEAM) department at The University of Oklahoma College of Continuing Education designs research and evaluations to help organizations understand and use information and data to solve real-world problems. Currently, we have an opening for a Senior Full-Stack Developer within our department.

This position is responsible for the design and development of web/software applications; to design, plan, and establish new protocols and procedures for web/software development and server systems; and to provide excellent customer service through on-call support related to the web applications.

Essential Duties:

  • Create and maintain technical and design documentation.
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain all tiers of applications.
  • Maintain, optimize, and upgrade applications following deployment.
  • Test applications to identify and fix coding errors and bugs.
  • Conduct maintenance of existing applications.
  • Develops front end website architecture and back end website applications.
  • Designs user interactions on web pages.
  • Creates servers and databases for functionality.
  • Ensures responsiveness of applications.
  • Coordinates with graphic designers for web design features.
  • Formulates requirements for web/software development projects. Ensures project completion.
  • Reviews and designs. SQL queries/procedures and code for optimal functionality, quality and adherence to standards.
  • Designs, plans and establishes new protocols and procedures for web/software development and server systems.
  • Designs and develops APIs.
  • Meets both technical and consumer needs.
  • Researches and evaluates emerging technologies, developments in web applications and programming languages.
  • Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the position.

Job Requirements


Required Education: Bachelor's degree, AND: 

  • 60 months of experience developing web applications or full stack developing.

Equivalency/Substitution: Will accept 48 months related experience in lieu of the Bachelor's degree for a total of 108 months related experience.

Skills:

  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Able to develop web/software applications in .NET C# and write complex SQL queries and stored procedures
  • Proficiency with fundamental front end languages such as HTML, CSS and JavaScript
  • Advanced knowledge of JavaScript frameworks such as Angular JS, React and Amber
  • Knowledge of server side languages such as Python, Ruby, Java, PHP and .Net
  • Knowledge of database technology such as MySQL, Oracle and MongoDB
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Windows server and MS SQL database administration and maintenance
  • Understanding of network configuration and routing protocols
  • Detail oriented for accuracy of data and information
  • Highly organized and able to handle multiple projects and deadlines
  • Strong initiative to solve problems
  • Able to work well with interdepartmental teams and initiatives

Advertised Physical Requirements:

Departmental Preferences:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, management information systems, software engineering, or another related degree
  • Experience with .NET and REST API endpoints
  • Familiarity with AWS
  • Ability to understand front-end users’ needs and requirements
  • Ability to shift focus between multiple projects, depending on the current priorities
  • Understanding of the full end-to-end development life cycle of the software from concept to deployment
  • Able to efficiently identify and resolve issues that arise during the design, testing, and maintenance processes using problem-solving skill
