As the Technical Engineering Manager you will report to the Senior Engineering Manager, in this role you will be responsible for setting and delivering the Engineering Strategy for Plastic components for TPM (Third Party Manufacturing) operations. In this role you will lead the TPM Engineering department covering all engineering disciplines related to plastic part components to deliver business-critical capital projects.

This role identifies the need for key capital equipment to deliver the long-term strategic goals of the business to support New Product Introduction projects, new equipment required to support increases in capacity and deliver cost improvements, improvements to existing equipment or purchase and delivery into production of new equipment to improve ADCs quality and compliance position and identifying and delivering new equipment and software systems required to protect the business from obsolescence.

As the Technical Engineering Manager you will need to ensure that competing priorities are balanced to ensure that project delivers are met on time to meet supply of components to TPM’s .

It will be a very big plus if you can bring experience in developing projects or sites from square one.

Your main responsibilities as the Technical Engineering Manager will be to:

  • Ownership and management of project schedules for all plastic part components at external suppliers and tool vendors to monitor the project activities.
  • Provide leadership and direction to plastic part suppliers (Technical, Operations and Quality) to deliver ensure the ramp supply of Freestyle Libre family of products are supply to the market on time and in full.
  • Manage multiple complex projects in parallel across multiple locations with cross functional , cross company teams.
  • Identify and delivery CI Projects to a value of $1MM annually
  • Develop and manage an Operation Communication strategy to provide regular updates to ADC LT with respect to project status
  • Create, maintain, and lead all CI and process related activities with suppliers and at TPM’s for the timely completion of the activities.
  • Monitor and track all monitor part component activities at TPM’s and ensure that they are investigated and tracked with suppliers and timely feedback is provided to TPM’s Team
  • Establish process for recording and scheduling of maintenance activities (PM, DM, Calibrations) of Tooling and Automation assets at suppliers to provide consistency in maintenance records to support Compliance, Reporting, Investigation and Continuous Improvement activities.
  • Create a development culture where staff are encouraged and empowered to develop as recognised industry SMEs
  • Coach and Mentor team members on performance and development needs.
  • Be responsible for developing, maintaining and promoting good working relationship within the group and other ADC Departments and TPM Manufacturing sites.
  • Be responsible for ensuring that the Department quality system is implemented and that its effectiveness is maintained (e.g. Training Records, closure of ER/CAPAs, DM PM activities). Manage the metric for Work Order completion to ensure target levels are achieved.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree (preferably in Polymer Engineering, Polymer science) or a closely related discipline is desired or equivalent technical experience and demonstrated competence required; additional post-graduate education may contribute toward the desired years of experience.
  • 8+ years of significant engineering and / or operational experience to develop the competence required to meet the skills and responsibilities of the position.
  • Able to demonstrate a sound knowledge of injection moulding, tool design, validation activities for medical device components.
  • Proven track record of managing and successfully delivering complex projects.
  • Able to demonstrate the ability to manage cross functional relationships including external stakeholders.
  • Experience in the improvement and optimisation of a highly complex high volumes automation equipment.
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills and knowledge.
  • A proven problem solver who can set clear strategy and prioritise. A proven ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Ability to take prompt action to accomplish objectives and to work under own initiative.
