We are seeking for a HSE Leader (PGTR Hub APMEA HSE Manager) who is able to demonstrate leadership, knowledge & strong execution in supporting our transformer factories and service units across our region (AMEA). This position is located in one of our factories in Turkey, within the provinces of Istanbul and Kocaeli.

Your responsibilities

  • Collaborate with BU & with Hub Mgt to Identify, strategise, plan HSE initiatives for the hub.
  • Deploy & drive these Health, Safety & Environment activities across the hub.
  • Partner with local management in the factories and service units to ensure timeliness and quality in execution of initiatives.
  • Coach, mentor, train, guide local leaders and employees to strengthen HSE culture.
  • Report, analyse, conduct RCAs of HSE performance in the Hub. Provide support to the local units where needed.
  • Support the local units in the reporting of incidents, investigation, CAPA & see through the completion by the owners. Support the BU as needed in major investigations.
  • Share BU/Hub incidents, lessons learnt and best practices on a regular basis.
  • Conduct audits of risk assessments, hazards reporting, safety management systems to drive continuous improvements.
  • Conduct functional competency assessments (FCAs) of local HSE leaders
  • Hold regular meetings with local units to diseminate information, monitor progress of initiatives and share learnings.
  • Collaborate with Group auditors to ensure all audit activities and findings are monitored.
  • Regular visits to the factories, participate in activities to continuously engage staff at all levels in the organization to deepen HSE culture such as (but not limited to); Daily Mgt Meetings, ST5 Safety Meetings, Gemba Walks, Safety Walks, 5S audits.
  • Participate in Global, BU, Hub meetings, webinars and trainings as required.
  • Collaborate with other stakeholders in the BU, Hub in supporting certain initiatives with direct or indirect impact to HSE.

Your background

  • University degree in Environmental, Industrial, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and with HSE related professional qualifications.
  • Min. 8 years experience in safety and environmental systems implementations at industrial facilities with proven experience in leading multiple teams across diverse cultures.
  • Competent with ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001/ISO 45001. Candidates with auditor certifications preferred.
  • Knowledge about the occupational risk assessment methodologies and techniques.
  • Good command of written and spoken English & Turkish.
  • Very good knowledge of MS Office applications.
  • Completed military service for applicants where relevant.
