Main Tasks:

  • Purchase to Strategy

o Know all raw materials and utilities contracts, provide advice to management for optimizing our production, costs and sourcing;

o A Category Specialist for defined key raw materials of high leverage and strategic importance to BPCC (BASF in Chongqing, China).

o Delegated procurement of raw materials, energy & utility contract management and purchase from alternative supplier as needed backup those contracts managed by procurement to support business decision;

o Lead and support renegotiation of existing contracts and new contracts;

o Ensure to update ISO Management system in area of Contract Management;

o Ensure raw material, energy and utility contracts strategic implementation according to the company strategy.

o Reviews all potential supply risks and initiates actions for risk mitigation.

o Develops long-term business network and relations with senior management level for suppliers and other partners.

  • Source to Contract

o Implement procurement source-to-contract concept for key raw materials at BPCC to achieve optimum commercial conditions according to agreed targets and at the required level of supply security, linked to business requirements and overall strategy of BPCC.

o To work on together with category buyers and category managers in direct procurement organization that involves: 1) Execution of existing raw materials contracts for BPCC; 2) operational issues and challenges with suppliers, mostly suppliers are single-source, 3) frequent communication and primary contact point for the local suppliers of defined raw materials, energy and utilities; 4) coordinate all follow-up discussions; 5) contribution in the preparation and negotiation of (existing) long term contracts.

o Manage yearly and monthly nomination to our suppliers, follow up and monitor this for any debate from our nomination, and coordinate the communication between plants, suppliers and logistics;

o Ensure contract execution and related ERP (SAP) system management and operational tasks;

o Check calculation and ensure the payments are following contracts on utilities and raw materials, settle the disputes with suppliers, and ensure the payment paid in order;

o Prepare periodical reports on production status, main products and utilities cost allocation etc;

  • Others

o Supports BPCC general manager with translation and interpretation during meetings with external partners.

o Other tasks assigned by management.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience, preferably at commercial or technical area in chemical industry.
  • Chemical Engineering or Procurement, strong negotiations skills, strategic thinking capabilities, overall knowledge of market environment and suppliers.
  • Solid verbal and written skills in English.
