Job Description:

As a CSS Manager with bilingual capabilities in Japanese at GDS EY, you will play a key role in guiding a talented team towards effectively delivering high-quality consulting services. The ability to proficiently use the Japanese language to interact with our Japanese clients is vital, and your understanding of business practices in Japanese culture will be highly appreciated within this sophisticated role.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and lead a team, ensuring completion of consulting projects with quality service and within stipulated timelines.
  • Utilize your Japanese language skills to bridge communication gaps with our Japanese clients, understanding their business needs accurately.
  • Working together with local/regional teams to lead the day-to-day execution of consulting projects, ensuring successful delivery within project scope and timelines.
  • Proactively identify and address risks, while also managing client relationships to promptly address concerns and ensure ongoing satisfaction, escalating issues to senior team members as necessary.
  • Develop project content by working with the consulting team and contributing to research and analysis.
  • Communicate project progress to clients and EY leadership, owning project planning and process management.
  • Mentor and coach junior consultants, fostering their consulting skills and professional growth.
  • Support business development efforts by contributing to proposal documents and pitch presentations.
  • Assist Project Manager in proposal development and project delivery, prioritizing objectives and reporting status updates.
  • Identify and address risks, escalating issues to senior team members as needed.
  • Contribute to the growth of large global accounts and strategic clients across the Asia-Pacific region.
  • Identify and cultivate new business opportunities with our existing and potential Japanese clients.
  • Manage and strengthen client relationships, demonstrating a deep understanding of Japanese business culture and practices.

Requirements:

  • Proficient levels of verbal and written Japanese skills are essential.
  • Japanese Language Competence Level N1
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in management consulting, with a proven track record of managing projects successfully.
  • Extensive knowledge of industry-relevant practices and trends.
  • Highly adept at steering client relationships and business development activities.
  • Strong problem-solving, strategic thinking, and analytical skills.
  • A bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Economics, or a related field, with an MBA or master’s degree preferred.
  • Exp. aligned to specific sectors such as consumer products, healthcare and life sciences, metals & mining, automotives, chemicals etc. will be preferred.
