What We’re Looking For

Reporting directly to the Global VP of People and Culture, the Director of People and Culture, APAC (Country Lead for Asia Pacific Region) will be responsible for leading all aspects of HR operations, talent management, and organizational development across multiple countries, including India (current offices in Gurugram and Kochi), Japan, and Australia, with further expansion planned in the future. 

This role requires a strategic thinker passionate about fostering a positive and inclusive workplace culture. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HR management, as well as a deep understanding of Asia Pacific labour/employment laws and regulations, and be able to collaborate and build strong partnerships with other regional HR leaders and Senior Leaders located in our Global Headquarters (Located in Mississauga, Canada).

What You’ll Do

Strategic HR Leadership:

  • Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with the company's overall objectives and growth and expansion plans for the APAC region.
  • Support growing offices in India, focused on building high-performing teams through cross-collaboration and strong relationships.
  • Drive initiatives to enhance employee engagement, retention, and talent development.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to address HR challenges and support business objectives.

Talent Acquisition and Management:

  • Oversee recruitment efforts to attract top talent across diverse functions and geographies within APAC.
  • Develop effective talent management strategies, including succession planning, career development, and performance management.
  • Implement best practices for onboarding, training, and development programs.

Employee Relations and Compliance:

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to employees and managers, guiding HR policies, procedures, and employee relations issues.
  • Ensure compliance with local labour laws and regulations across all APAC countries, advising on employment contracts, terminations, and other HR-related matters and collaborating with our in-house legal teams.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate HR-related risks and ensure ethical and legal standards adherence.

Culture and Engagement:

  • Champion a culture of inclusion, diversity, and belonging, fostering an environment where all employees feel valued and empowered.
  • Lead initiatives to promote employee well-being, diversity, equity, and inclusion within the workplace.
  • Drive employee engagement surveys, analyze results, and continuously implement action plans to improve employee experience.

HR Operations and Administration:

  • Oversee HR operations, including payroll, benefits administration, HRIS management, and reporting.
  • Develop and maintain HR policies, procedures, and an employee handbook that are in accordance with local regulations and company standards.
  • Manage budgetary responsibilities for HR initiatives and programs within the APAC region.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of People and Culture strategies to support the employee life cycle, including talent acquisition, onboarding, performance management, and talent development.
  • Manage and mentor HR, Talent Acquisition, and People Development teams, setting clear goals and objectives to drive business results.
  • Develop and implement programs, policies, and procedures to create a positive working environment and collaborative culture with high employee engagement.
  • Utilize analytics to identify and track key HR metrics, providing insights and recommendations to improve business results.
  • Oversee annual HR programs, including employee surveys, performance management, and compensation programs.
  • Manage group benefits and disability management plan design and administration, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Experience You’ll Bring

  • Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive HR leadership experience, focusing on the APAC region.
  • Strong understanding of country labour/employment laws and regulations, with experience managing HR operations in multiple countries and time zones.
  • Demonstrated track record of developing and implementing HR strategies to support business objectives and drive organizational success.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Proven leadership ability, with experience managing and developing high-performing HR teams.
  • Strategic thinker who can anticipate HR trends and proactively address challenges.
  • Highly ethical, and committed to fostering a diverse, inclusive, and equitable workplace culture.
