Hybrid Working 

Structured hybrid role: 

At Barclays, we offer a hybrid working experience that blends the positives of working alongside colleagues at our onsite locations, together with working from home. We have a structured approach where colleagues work at an onsite location on fixed, ‘anchor’, days of the week, for a minimum of two days a week or more, as set by the business area (or nearest equivalent if working part-time hours). Please note that as we continue to embed our hybrid working environment, we remain in a test and learn phase, which means that working arrangements may be subject to change on reasonable notice to ensure we meet the needs of our business.

Introduction:

The role holder will be recognised as a technical expert in their area of expertise i.e. Pricing. The role holder will undertake tasks related to Pricing within Cards and Payments (using pricing models across payment acceptance and commercial card issuing). This role will act as an expert for pricing team at Chennai.

What will you be doing?

• Responsible for the delivery of expert pricings for strategic customers in response to pricing requests from Sales Managers from the Payments business 
• Understand in detail the various pricing models in use across the Pricing Team, in particular owning & understanding all the assumptions that are used. 
• Maintain strong domain knowledge, financing and pricing expertise in order to ensure that pricing models are maintained / developed in line with pricing strategy for payments business.
• Preparation and review of pricings, challenging the commercial assumptions. 
• Facilitate / attend pricing committees and maintain notes / minutes (from Governance standpoint) 
• Provide support for Sales and Finance teams through the pricing process 
• Ensure control and governance is maintained in the pricing process including handling/support for audit activities and maintain a high quality set of process documentation 
• Identifying & implementing improvements to the existing pricing procedures & processes to enhance efficiency 
• Support transformation activities in the Pricing area 

What we’re looking for:

• Commercial and Financial acumen 
• Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills 
• Understanding of value based management techniques 
• Problem solving, analytical skills and financial analysis 
• Proven influencing, relationship building and communication skills with stakeholder management

Skills that will help you in the role:

• Accounting qualification / C.A. / MBA or similar 
• Experience of card or financial services
• Broad business and industry knowledge and experience
• Knowledge of tools such as Tableau, Alteryx is desirable
