Then come and join our Malaysia team as Procurement specialist. As a Procurement Specialist you will have the task to analyze the global spend from over 8000 suppliers/service providers database with the aim of establishing transparency and assessing the possibility of streamlining supplier base across the organization. Act as a quality gate for onboarding of suppliers- to ensure only preferred vendors are utilized to control the supply base. You will be supporting at a global capacity. 

Your tasks and responsibilities:

  • You are responsible to evaluate current global supplier registry of newly acquired company (over 8000 suppliers) to identify transparency of spend and assign into rightful commodities.
  • You are responsible to assess data pool of vendors in close coordination with the requesting departments to understand the scope, competency, and service performance of these vendors. It is also imperative that country specific regulations, geographic distribution & supply risk management are taken into consideration in assessing the supply base per country.
  • You are responsible to Identify gaps against the compliant purchasing setup (if these suppliers have records of contract agreement, negotiated price list and vendor performance evaluation.)
  • You are responsible to assess common vendors between acquired company and parent company in order to pool and consolidate the supply base.
  • You are responsible to assess which tail end suppliers are to be flagged for phase out and which suppliers are to be retained and potentially developed.
  • You are responsible to vet through all new supplier applications via supplier onboarding tool (Jaggaer direct) to ensure preference is provided to incumbent preferred vendors to avoid buildup of supply base.
  • You are responsible for onboarding of suppliers, ensure documentations and accreditation requirements are in place according to quality & purchasing guidelines.

Your qualifications and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • 8-10 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management.
  • Must have 2-3 years supplier Management/ Development experience.

Your attributes and skills:

  • You shall have strong analytical skills to perform analyses of the spend data, market research and understanding the requirements from the key stakeholders to conduct a comprehensive evaluation.
  • You shall have strong negotiation & communication skills with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • You have solid understanding of procurement processes, contract management, and sourcing strategies.
  • You have strong command on English speaking and writing.
  • You are proficient in MS office applications like PowerPoint, Excels, Power BI.
