This Senior Project Management level position provides direct support and project management in the design, development and implementation of projects within the Component and Equipment Handling Functional Group of the eVinci Program. The successful individual must be able to manage high complexity, multiple projects, lead multi-disciplinary teams and continuously monitor progress with milestones and autonomy. This position works closely with project functional managers in recommending project goals and analyzing the status of projects. The senior project manager is responsible for ensuring the timely creation, and maintenance of master project schedules, along with Program reporting requirements and processes. to ensure project and reports for multiple projects, where required. Position requires the effective management of and integrated project team with 10 or more members.

It is a bona fide job requirement to be eligible and authorized to travel to the U.S. on Westinghouse business, and such travel is subject to the rules and regulations of the U.S. Department of Energy, as well as compliance with all applicable U.S. export laws and regulations.

This opportunity will be based out of our Burlington, Ontario office. This position will be eligible for a hybrid/mobile working arrangement (~2 - 3 days per week in the Burlington office).

Your Day to Day:

  • Ownership of project lifecycles from proposal through to implementation including initiating, planning, executing, monitoring and controlling and close-out. Define and initiate projects and assign and/or obtain project managers to manage cost, schedule and performance of component projects, while working to ensure the ultimate success and acceptance of the program. Oversee and direct the authoring of project plans including developing scope, schedule, and cost baselines. Analyze needs and develop project performance metrics.
  • Determine methods and resources needed to achieve project goals and develops a detailed work (project) plan (when required) which includes definition scope, staffing and financial resource allocation, priorities and target dates. Monitors progress and ensures timelines are met at major milestones.
  • Balance and manage competing project constraints including scope, quality, schedule, budget, resources and risks. Ownership and continuous development of project management procedures and practices including review of “lessons learned” and implementation of required corrective actions.
  • Align stakeholder (e.g. team, customer, suppliers, Westinghouse in-country representation, etc.) expectations to achieve overall acceptance of program objectives. Recognize the dynamic human aspects of each program stakeholder's expectations and manage accordingly. Effectively communicate program interdependencies and requirements, identify and mitigate risks, and resolve conflicts and issues.
  • Serve as single representative to customer, consultants, constructor and Westinghouse business areas in support of project. Interpret and transmit contract requirements, and subsequent changes, to functional groups. Integrate project’s objectives and actions through participation with other project groups in matters of common concern.
  • Properly close projects by archiving work in financial, scheduling, document management, and resource management systems/tools. Perform final project quality assessment and report out. Identify and communicate opportunities for improvement, lessons, and risk avoidance for future work.
  • Seek opportunities and implement continuous improvements to enhance project performance.
  • Occasional travel required.
  • All other duties as assigned. 

Who You Are:

  • College Diploma or University Degree in related discipline.
  • Applicable disciplines are Project Management, Engineering, Business, Construction Management or related technical discipline
  • PMI CAPM or PMP Certification or other equivalent project management certification completed or in progress.
  • Member in good standing with the Project Management Institute (PMI).
  • Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience in design engineering environment. 
  • Ability to provide strategic vision as well as demonstrated success in helping drive projects and the business. 
  • Experience with MS Project, Primavera, and scheduling is an asset.
  • Experience with review and approval of customer invoices is an asset.
