We are looking for a Vice President, Group Manager to join our Financial Communications team and help manage the investor and financial stakeholder communications for some of the agency's largest clients. Ideal candidates should have strong writing & consulting skills, experience putting together quarterly earnings and transaction-related documents and media support, understanding of public company dynamics and the capital markets environment. Keep current on macroeconomic trends and have strong business acumen.

About the Job:

  • Provide strategic guidance to clients on an ongoing basis; anticipate and address client needs.
  • Troubleshoot clients’ problems as they arise; seek senior management input whenever appropriate. Motivate team members by promptly reviewing work and providing constructive feedback; encourage teams to take advantage of training and development opportunities.
  • Quarterly earnings communications strategy and execution support.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in writing and editing materials including client media materials, byline articles, earnings scripts, investment thesis narratives, and other content.
  • Understand the use of digital and social channels for effective financial communications activities.
  • Exhibit strong communication and presentation skills to effectively articulate ideas to clients, colleagues, and others.
  • Help account team(s) work effectively and in the best interests of the client(s); maximize the agency’s network of resources to enhance client services.
  • Take a leadership role in new business proposal development and presentations; work with account teams to build incremental business.
  • Manage account financials including budget allocation and control, time sheets, client billing, supplier invoicing, and purchase orders; ensure team billability and account profitability.
  • Participate in external company promotion through articles, speeches, presentations, professional memberships, etc. Begin to build a leadership role in outside organizations to increase Ketchum’s visibility in the marketplace and create new business opportunities

Qualifications:

We’re looking for required skills, and they can come from any combination of education and experience. Diversity of thought and background are encouraged. Typical qualifications include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, journalism, English, marketing, or a related field preferred
  • A minimum of ten years of agency and/or corporate/technology public relations experience- (expertise in "corporate" reputation management, message development, media strategy, strategic communications and global/international experience is a plus)
  • Must have demonstrated skills and success in building, owning, and driving programs—previous/current experience as the direct client contact and building plans.
  • Broad-based exposure to all skill areas, including proposal planning, writing and presentations, media relations, and consultative selling.
  • Proven track record in growing business.
  • Direct experience in building and managing teams comprised of professional and non-exempt personnel

The salary range for this position is $155,000 - $185,000. This position may be bonus eligible depending on individual employee performance and Ketchum business performance. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, education, years of experience, past training, skills and abilities of applicant, internal equity and local geographic market data. A range of medical, dental, vision, 401(k) matching, paid time off, and/or other benefits also are available.
