Overview

The Vice President of Sales and Financial Services is an entrepreneurial position responsible for building a book of business within the Financial Sector which delivers or exceeds assigned gross profit goals and contributes proportionately to EBITDA and Cash Flow.  The VP, Sales and Financial Services, accomplishes this through the persuasive communication of Active’s corporate trade/barter models directly to prospects in the Financial Sector.

Responsibilities

In close partnership with team members, the VP, Sales and Financial Services is responsible for prospecting and closing new business in the Financial Sector.

 

This includes: researching prospects and industry trends, setting meetings, developing, implementing and delivering effective presentations to senior level and C-Suite executives, consulting prospects to utilize Active as a funding source for non-performing debt, writing proposals, creating Profit & Loss solutions, structuring transactions and developing contracts with the assistance of our Chief Risk Officer, generating account analysis reports, CRM management, analyzing trade credit usage, managing meeting administration and follow up, and collaborative interactions with the Integrated Sales Team on portfolio related business and all other functions in general. This is a critical revenue and profit contribution role.

 

  • Structures sales transactions and/or financial modeling for assigned sales opportunities, utilizing complete and accurate data, and gaining approval from Active’s Chief Risk Officer.
  • Ability to consult prospects on utilizing Active as a funding source for non-performing debt obligations (bankruptcy debt, student loans, collateralized debt obligations), or other traditional assets a bank may hold such as real estate or sponsorships.
  • Develops and offers creative financial solutions which increase our ability to meet or exceed client requirements; meets internal guidelines while creating a competitive advantage.
  • Provides a candid and thoughtful assessment of the sales opportunity with a focus on the financial aspects of the transaction and corresponding risk.
  • Liaises with COO and EVP Revenue and Analytics and other team members in the development of sales plans and submits sales report on a weekly basis while communicating required and pertinent information to sales management.
  • Collaborates with COO and EVP Revenue and Analytics, and other team members on the compilation and refresh of prospective clients list for use as sales leads from a variety of sources including, including, but not limited to: Internet web sites, social media, newspapers, and digital equivalents, business directories, industry ads, trade shows, industry associations, etc.
  • Establishes and maintains close personal contact with assigned prospects/clients to accelerate growing the business and constructing an effective referral base.
  • In collaboration with Marketing/Client Development departments, develops and implements tactics for answering Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and Requests for Information (RFIs) which elicit positive response. Ensures “Best in Class” RFP/RFI responses, content, structure and on-point answers to specific client questions.
  • Works collaboratively across Active’s organization to mobilize the resources required to ensure the client’s requirements are met.
  • Performs any other professional or ad hoc duties as assigned by the COO or applicable sales management.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities  

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) with a preferred focus on Marketing, Communications and/or Finance; or equivalent experience.
  • MBA degree is a plus.
  • Must have a minimum of 10 years of work experience including 7 years of successful sales experience, preferably in an Outside Sales environment at a company in the Finance Sector.
  • Experience in presenting to C-Suite executives is required.
  • Media Sales experience and agency background is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint is required.
  • Knowledge of Salesforce.com is a plus.
  • Formalized sales training from a Fortune 500 company is preferred.

Travel

Must be able to travel locally and domestically up to 40% of the time.
