As Director of Product Management, you will demonstrate your exceptional leadership, communication, and project management skills to develop an impactful Product Management team. You will be responsible for setting the short- and long-term strategy for the Product Management group by orchestrating product development efforts for all product lines, from conceptual stages through product life cycle management, driving the development of a long-term product roadmap, and leading cross-functional teams to implement product launches “On Target” (defined as timely, on-cost, and on-quality).

  • Can you build cross-functional relationships? You’ll work closely with the Creative Design, Commercial, Operations and Engineering teams to deliver market-leading products that are on the cutting edge in design and innovation and that achieve stated financial and quality objectives. Working alongside other functions and your team, you’ll develop an innovation pipeline that supports and aligns with our product roadmap, and will work to ensure the New Product Introduction (NPI) stage gate process aligns with the Company’s vision to be a World Class Supplier.
  • Can you effectively lead and support NPI efforts? You will oversee the preparation of cases and related documents and will establish product development objectives to achieve sponsorship. You will provide input into schedules for all phases of product development and market introduction, assuring timelines are maintained for all projects. Further, you’ll continually review project progress to ensure the attainment of stated objectives. 
  • Can you continuously optimize the product development process? We’ll look to you to manage complexity by balancing a commercial focus with operational efficiency and technical capabilities along with engineering requirements, to deliver on target product launches. You will weigh the value and requirements of numerous projects, advocating for underlying principles, to make the right decision on which projects to prioritize and when.
  • Can you own the product lifecycle? You will establish a system to continuously evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of product offerings against market needs, assessing consumer appeal, competitive differentiation, changes in cost structure, margins and brand relevance. In collaboration with Brand Management, you will assist in developing product marketing and promotional programs, making recommendations to introduce product enhancements to market and increase sales of existing products. Success in this aspect of the role is defined by driving standardization where possible, and driving the right projects to execution on-time, with consideration to commercial concerns and impact to the business.
  • Do you use Voice of Customer data to drive decision-making? You will conduct market research, surveys, and customer visits to understand the needs of target market segments. In senior management meetings, you’ll represent the Voice of Customers, using data to drive the development of products that meet the standards of current and prospective customers.

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration/marketing or related field; MBA preferred.
  • At least 10 years’ progressive Product Management leadership experience. Experience should include understanding of consumer products, creative design processes, engineering development processes, supply chains, dealer-direct marketing, brand and product positioning, advertising, point-of-sale merchandising, product management use of common technologies. High-ticket durable goods experience is preferred.
  • High proficiency level in Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; knowledge of ERP systems and Project Management software are preferred. Experience with marketing systems including CRM, marketing optimization and content management systems (i.e., Extranets, sales portals).
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact, present to, and influence a group of co-workers, supervisors, managers, or higher-level executives.
  • Proven leader with a demonstrated ability to get results and inspire a team.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 5% of the time.

Hiring Range: $147,700-232,1
