NXP Business Line SCE (Secure Connected Edge) is looking for a Embedded FW Design Engineer, based in our Gratkorn (Austria) R&D site.

This role is part of the Digital HW/SoC (System on Chip) Development Unit, distributed over more NXP sites in Europe, America and Asia, that operates within the SET (Secure Embedded Transactions) Product Line to provide high demanding market-lead customers with secure payment and identification solutions for the Mobile, Infrastructure and IoT market areas.

The Digital NFC Modem Group based in Gratkorn is responsible to deliver very high quality solutions for NFC RF Communications. The Team is involved in all aspects of the Digital Design Flow, from Specifications to Tape-Out, including validation, production enablement and customer support.

Your responsibilities:

  • Support the organization business with efficient hi-quality Embedded FW Design, Verification, Release and Testing;
  • Review and understand the FW customer’s requirements and specifications, mapping them on to the HW infrastructure where your FW will operate;
  • Create and review an action plan together with your leads, including definition of deliverables, execution priorities and effort estimations;
  • Execute the FW implementation phase, providing code and documentation in line with the agreed plan and functional content, in respect of the established organization’s quality checks.
  • Cooperate to the establishment and maintenance of a unified FW development process;
  • Proactively interact with team members and stakeholders for continuous update and improvement of the FW development workflow;
  • Growing your competences and autonomy on FW EDA tools and methodologies.

Your Technical Profile:

  • Good knowledge of SW Engineering & Embedded Systems Development Lifecycle
  • Good knowledge of Linux OS and proficiency on CLI/scripting
  • Good programming skills of embedded C/C++ and/or Rust
  • Good understanding of Object Oriented Programming techniques
  • Good knowledge of Python for general purpose applications
  • Good knowledge of Centralized Version Control Systems (e.g., SVN, Git)

Qualifications:

  • University Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent

Extra Qualifications (Plus)

  • Proven experience in SW Agile & Continuous Integration methodologies
  • Proven experience on RTOS based FW programming
  • Deep knowledge of the HW core modules of an embedded system
  • Knowledge of any HDL Design and Verification language
  • Experience with Digital Design and/or Verification EDA tools
