Job Description:

Every day, we seek to improve financial security for people. Joining our Transfer Agent Services Team means you will be a part of a passionate and supportive team that believes what we do matters to our clients and investors. As a Transfer Agent Operations Support Analyst, you will be responsible for working with fellow team members and our service providers to ensure our client’s operational needs are met. This will entail regular collaboration and communication with our sub-Transfer Agent as well as additional service providers focused on assisting our shareholders. You will be responsible for overseeing and executing both routine functions as prescribed by procedure, as well as problem solving issues that come up which may impact our clients operational needs. On this team you will use third party programs and systems to interact with our sub-Transfer Agent and help them in the resolution or daily responsibilities as well as review and process payments to both our intermediaries and vendors.

Years of Experience

3 plus years of U.S. 40-Act mutual fund experience within a transfer agent environment

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or equivalent required;

Responsibilities

  • Communicate and work with teams at our sub-transfer agent and primary service provider, SS&C GIDS, on a daily basis to ensure timely processing and transaction accuracy.
  • Review daily operational processes including items referred by transfer agent service providers for exception processing. 
  • Support day-to-day operational activities associated with multiple regulatory rules and responsibilities such as Frequent Trading Monitoring, Blue Sky Administration and Regulatory Communications.
  • According to procedure, execute assigned responsibilities or other operational services as part of a process team. Ensure that assigned work is completed in a timely, complete, and accurate manner and ensure that all work is properly documented. 
  • Review and process commission payments and service provider invoices in an accurate and timely manner according to procedure.
  • Maintain and update current procedures, as well as design and draft new procedures relating to operational processes.
  • Work directly with additional external service and data providers and multiple groups within Russell Investments to support a wide range of functions and projects.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Candidate Requirements

  • Computer skills – proficiency with all Microsoft Office programs, especially Excel, as well as proven ability to learn and operate new job specific computer systems.
  • Proven superior communication skills - both verbal and written with the demonstrated ability to lead through influence.
  • Experience in an operational environment within the financial services industry preferred
  • Project execution experience, as a team member within a multi-disciplined team preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to meet operational process deadlines within a small, high-paced team with multiple responsibilities.
  • Analytical skills utilized for process management and process improvement.
  • Experience in documenting and testing procedures in an operational environment within the financial services industry
  • Ability to thrive in a team environment, where some team members are remote workers, or are working for our service provider partners.
  • Excellent listening, written, and verbal communication skills with ability to influence and lead others.
  • Proven ability to create and follow procedures, document issues, provide a clear audit trail, and reconstruct issues from documentation at a later time.
  • Ability to field routine and repetitive operational questions and deliver consistent results as well as demonstrate the ability to problem solve, troubleshoot, analyze, and find a solution to non-routine or complex questions.
