Part Time Grant Writer for our services as chaplains for LA General Medical Center, Urban Interfaith Center ACPE accredited training school for chaplains and outreach ministries for social Justice.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Since all Archdiocesan employees represent the Roman Catholic Church, they are expected to conduct themselves according to the goals and mission of the Church in performing their work.

The following tasks are considered essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Support and promote the mission of the St. Camillus Center.
  • Manage and lead all grant writing activities: track, research, w
  • rite, submit LOIs and proposals in coordination to raise annual budgeted revenue.
  • Work with the St. Camillus Center’s team to determine goals, objectives, scope, feasibility, priorities for grant submissions.
  • In coordination with the St. Camillus Center’s team, create budgets and all other required documents for the submission of grants.
  • Collaborate with the St. Camillus Center’s team on the follow up of grant agreements, acknowledgement letters, and any requested information from funders.
  • Responsible for the preparation and submission of reporting requirements for awarded grants.
  • Research new funding and grant opportunities that may be appropriate for the agency and align with the agency’s goals.
  • Manage and organize grant files, and maintain a calendar showing grants submitted, pending, and report deadlines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year accredited college or university preferred, and at least 5-7 years of experience as a grant writer.
  • Ability to communicate in a clear, concise, professional, and effective manner, both orally and in writing information, and comprehend and follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Proficient working knowledge of the use and operation of personal computers; ability to use Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent research and writing skills.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to track and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work under time pressure.
  • Ability to perform an array of complex duties, ability to multi-task and effectively prioritize.
  • Ability to be flexible, work independently, and be a self-starter, as well as the ability to work as part of a team, and relate well with the public, volunteers, and the organization.
  • Results and detail orientated.
  • Physical Requirements: Able to sit for a long period of time, seeing to inspect the field and written documents, dexterity of hands and fingers to operate office equipment, occasionally lift up to 20 pounds, and climb stairs several times a day carrying up to 5 pounds.

Wage Range

The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
