Position Information

POSITION: Safety and Project Coordinator

LOCATION: NDSCS - Wahpeton, North Dakota

TYPE OF APPOINTMENT: Full-time, 12-month, benefited position 

WHO MAY BE CONSIDERED: Anyone eligible to work in the United States

JOB SUMMARY: Supports all safety processes, including Risk Management, WSI, Campus safety, incident investigation and reporting, OSHA compliance, annual inspections, assist in developing and supporting FEMA/NIMS requirements as well as research and management of small campus projects. This position will require working knowledge of College and OSHA safety regulations. There is considerable attention to detail.

SALARY: $53,000 - $62,000, commensurate with education and experience

Minimum Requirements

  • Must support the mission, vision and values of NDSCS
  • High School diploma or equivalent and 2+ years experience with safety practices/procedures & incident investigation
  • Valid driver's license for required safety training
  • Familiarity with OSHA safety practices, Risk Management, WSI, and FEMA/NIMS requirements
  • Ability to plan, organize and determine methods that produce desired results and meet required deadlines
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proficient working knowledge of computer software programs (i.e. Microsoft Office Suite) including excellent keyboarding skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written forms along with excellent problem solving and resolution skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and conduct duties in a professional manner and maintain effective working relationships
  • Small project or Facilities Management related experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Comprehensive knowledge and experience of College related safety practices, OSHA practices and FEMA/NIMS requirements
  • Comprehensive knowledge of setting up and conducting in-person safety training
  • Experience with procedure and policy development
  • Comprehensive knowledge and experience with Emergency Response training, coordinating and monitoring requirements for FEMA/NIMS
