Position Overview

Do you enjoy learning and working in various aspects of the development field, like stewardship, alumni, gift processing, donor relations, fundraising, and more? Are you known for your excellent customer service, writing, and communication skills, whether that’s by phone, email, or in person?

The National Office of Development seeks to add two self-motivated, reliable individuals to our Development Services team. The Fundraising Assistants will be responsible for providing administrative support to the the fundraising efforts and initiatives of the Office of Development regarding alumni and targeted donors, as needed. Assistants will also provide materials, data support, and assistance to National Office personnel in achieving fundraising goals.

Responsibilities

  • Supports fundraising efforts and provides information to Office of Development professionals and volunteers.
  • Assists in fundraising initiatives, programs, and projects.
  • Provides administrative support, data requests, routine reports, and analyses.
  • Maintains donor information records. Provides data for targeted donor campaigns.
  • Actively assists fundraising professionals as needed.
  • Reviews and evaluates Office of Development email boxes, this includes support of Grants Administration, Events, Alumni and NESA, etc.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Job Competencies:

Knowledge of: Different fundraising methods, such as grant writing, event planning, and direct mail, as well as the fundraising cycle and best practices; specific programs and initiatives of the local councils; how to interpret fundraising data to generate reports and identify trends; how to build and maintain relationships with donors, including stewardship practices.

Skill in: Utilizing excellent written and verbal communication skills for interacting with donors, volunteers, and colleagues; managing multiple tasks and meeting tight deadlines; Excel or other data analysis software; ensuring accuracy; identifying and solving problems that arise during fundraising campaigns; utilizing fundraising databases and CRM systems.

Ability to: Work effectively with a team of fundraising professionals and volunteers; take initiative and work independently, but also ask for help when needed; provide excellent customer service to donors and other stakeholders; demonstrate a passion for fundraising and the mission of the organization.

Education

High School Diploma or GED equivalency.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in event planning and/or fundraising administrative support.
  • Must pass a criminal history background check.
