Who we’re looking for

Toyota Financial Services is seeking a dynamic and experienced Cloud Engineering Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for defining, implementing, and overseeing cloud governance policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure efficient and secure utilization of cloud resources across the organization. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, leadership skills, and a deep understanding of cloud technologies and governance frameworks.

What you’ll be doing

Cloud Governance

  • Develop a comprehensive cloud governance strategy aligned with organizational goals and industry best practices. This includes defining governance principles, frameworks, and standards to guide cloud adoption and usage.
  • Design and implement cloud governance policies covering areas such as resource provisioning, access control, data management, compliance, and cost optimization. Ensure policies are well-documented, communicated effectively, and enforced consistently across all cloud environments.
  • Stay abreast of regulatory requirements and industry standards related to cloud computing. Collaborate with compliance and security teams to ensure cloud environments adhere to relevant regulations, standards, and policies.
  • Establish mechanisms for monitoring and optimizing cloud resource utilization, including compute instances, storage, and networking resources. Implement cost management strategies to optimize cloud spending while ensuring performance and availability requirements are met.
  • Identify and assess risks associated with cloud adoption and usage. Implement risk mitigation measures and controls to safeguard against data breaches, service outages, and other potential threats.
  • Continuously assess and improve the effectiveness of cloud governance processes and controls. Solicit feedback from stakeholders and leverage data-driven insights to drive optimization and innovation within the cloud governance framework.

Team, operations & supplier management

  • Manage relationships with cloud service providers and vendors to ensure contractual obligations are met and services are delivered as per agreed-upon terms. Evaluate new cloud technologies and services to assess their alignment with organizational objectives and governance requirements.
  • Lead a team of cloud engineers responsible for implementing and maintaining cloud infrastructure and services. Provide guidance, mentorship, and technical expertise to team members to ensure the successful execution of cloud governance initiatives.
  • Partner with peer engineering teams to plan, organize, coordinate, integrate, execute, and evaluate cloud projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives and compliance with security and quality standards.
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain cloud-based solutions and services, using various cloud platforms, tools, and technologies.
  • Provide expert advice and consultation on cloud computing best practices, trends, and innovations.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including business units, functions, customers, and vendors, to understand their needs and expectations, and to deliver optimal cloud solutions.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize cloud performance, availability, reliability, and scalability.
  • Research, evaluate, and recommend new cloud technologies, products, and services, and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Mentor, coach and provide direction; Motivate, influence, and negotiate with others in often challenging situations/issues.

What you bring

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information systems or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • At least 5 years of progressive and relevant experience in hands-on cloud computing, including supervision/management.
  • A recognized expert in cloud computing, with significant industry and function knowledge and understanding.
  • Proficient in AWS cloud platforms, tools, and technologies.
  • Skilled at scripting and developing automated solutions for manual tasks.
  • Hands-on experience operating in a CI/CD environment.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills
