What you'll do:

We are looking for a Sr. Director, Global People Technology & Analytics to work within our global People Operations team focused on developing, leading, and implementing the strategy of People Technology & Analytics at The Trade Desk. 

You will be part of the global People Operations team reporting to GM, People Solutions in New York.

In this role you will:

People Technology:

  • Develop a roadmap for the HR technology and analytics functions and craft a strategy in partnership with the IT Tech Ops teams that supports a great candidate, employee, and manager experience with world class technology solutions
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Workday and People Technology subject matter experts focused on an agile development methodology and system administration including configuration, security, and proper controls. (ex: Workday, CRM tools, Learning tools, etc)
  • Oversee the end-to-end design, testing, training, and change management initiatives for all People Technology initiatives including digital transformation across the employee journey.
  • Manage/refine the People Technology request intake process and organize/prioritize work to support the People team COEs and business stakeholder requests
  • Develop strong partnerships with the People team COEs to roll out or enhance current/new People technology innovations for TTD
  • Establish and monitor service delivery standards to ensure agreed upon development SLAs are met.
  • Proactively automate and streamline business processes globally with a business process improvement and people experience mindset
  • Partner closely with Finance, IT, and COE stakeholders to facilitate collaboration and build towards enterprise solutions
  • Develop appropriate controls and data governance models to ensure data integrity and to support reporting & analytics needs
  • Lead a team of product owners that will align and own their respective roadmaps to support the business with a proactive approach to design and solutioning
  • Support the end-to-end employee lifecycle processes from a People Technology standpoint (Ex: Annual Performance Processes, Open Enrollment, etc) by partnering with key stakeholders to understand business needs, solicit feedback, and provide a POV and solutions on all people technology matters
  • Build out the People Technology Team career progression framework and succession plan to support the team’s career goals and retention strategies
  • Develop innovative technology solutions that will sustain, scale, and support TTD’s global expansion into new geographic markets.

People Analytics:

  • Understand the company’s strategic business priorities, partner with leadership and business stakeholders to understand their people data needs, and establish a vision, roadmap, and strategy for the People Analytics team to support those priorities
  • Deliver data-driven insights to executive leadership and business stakeholders using tools such as PowerBI, Tableau, Workday Reporting tools (PRISM)
  • Manage/refine the reporting and analytics intake process and establish effective SLAs around data requests to maximize impact on the business
  • Own the design and delivery of manager reporting toolkits and leadership dashboards to drive strong adoption of a self-service approach to reporting & analytics
  • Partner with the Business Intelligence team to align roadmaps, collaborate on data strategies, and support enterprise-wide people data needs
  • Empower leaders with relevant, timely, and accurate information for effective decision making by overseeing the monthly creation/refinement of dashboards for business stakeholders
  • Build out the People Analytics Team career progression and succession plan to support the team’s career goals and retention strategies
  • Manage/refine the reporting and analytics intake process and establish effective SLAs around data requests to maximize impact on the business

Who you are: 

  • An experienced and strategic business partner with proven ability to work with business stakeholders, internal partners, and executive leadership
  • Experience building People Technology and analytics roadmaps with an innovative global vision in mind
  • Experience leading a team of Technology and Analytics subject matter experts including career conversations, development, and coaching
  • Well-versed in HR business process and SOX compliance audit controls
  • A collaborator and HR leader that can serve as a trusted technology and analytics advisor to the TTD business leadership team and partner closely with the other People team COEs
  • Familiar working in a “roll up your sleeves” startup environment that is rapidly scaling globally
  • Demonstrated ability to drive the selection and enhancements for all People Technology tools
  • Possess a “Data-First” Mindset and drive all conversations with business stakeholders keeping metrics and data insights at the forefront
  • Experience leading the team’s development work via agile methodology and proper controls to design, test, train, and deliver with appropriate business stakeholder change management skills
  • Work with the global team to ensure international compliance within the People Technology stack
  • A track record in managing efficient and high-performing teams
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills are required
  • Good interpersonal/verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with SQL, Tableau, Workday, and other HR Technology and reporting analytic tools
  • Advanced skills in MS office including Powerpoint/Excel
  • BA/BS degree, Master’s degree preferred
  • 10-15+ years experience in progressive HR Technology & Analytics
  • 8+ years leadership experience in managing HR Technology/Analytics teams.

The actual amount may differ based on non-discriminatory factors such as experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and location. All employees may be eligible to become The Trade Desk shareholders through eligibility for stock-based compensation grants, which are awarded to employees based on company and individual performance. The Trade Desk also offers other compensation depending on the role such as sales-based incentives and commissions. Plus, expected benefits for this role include comprehensive healthcare (medical, dental, and vision) with premiums paid in full for employees and dependents, retirement benefits such as a 401k plan and company match, short and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, well-being benefits, reimbursement for certain tuition expenses, parental leave, sick time of 1 hour per 30 hours worked, vacation time for full-time employees up to 120 hours thru the first year and 160 hours thereafter, and around 13 paid holidays per year. Employees can also purchase The Trade Desk stock at a discount through The Trade Desk’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan.

At the Trade Desk, Base Salary is one part of our competitive total compensation and benefits package and is determined using a salary range. The base salary range for this role is

$161,800—$296,600 USD
