Overview:

The SVP, People Leader is a critical leadership role for Ketchum. You will be a strategic business partner that will help attract top talent and drive strategy, structure, processes, and programs to cultivate and optimize growth. This senior level role has a comprehensive understanding and expertise in the HR function in how to make a line of business successful within our company.

This is a hybrid role, and requires you be in the New York Office three days a week. 

About the job:

Job responsibilities include coaching executives on strategic planning, developing human resource and organizational strategies, analyzing talent requirements, supporting our people, responding to ER issues, and mediating conflicts. You will leverage your skills and our people data to train leadership on optimal people management and develop long-lasting solutions for department-specific issues.

You should be comfortable and highly competent across the entire employee journey: company culture, attracting the very best talent, DEI, onboarding, talent management, performance management, learning & development, employee engagement, retention, total rewards, and people operations.

Success in this role requires strong business acumen, strong leadership and management skills, progressive thinking, passion for building an inclusive and high-performance culture and a people first approach.

This is a position for a self-motivated, strategic thinker, who understands organization development and efficiency, and is a stickler for details.

  • Drive attraction and retention of employees
  • Provide valuable senior level counsel to your business leaders and partnership across multiple business units in areas including, performance management, leadership development, succession planning, compensation evaluation, and employee relations
  • Partner closely with Executive management to thoroughly understand the needs of the business, be close to current and future hiring needs
  • Work closely with all levels of employees to build relationships, provide HR support, and drive the business strategy
  • Help identify competency, knowledge, and talent gaps; develop specific recommendations to fill those gaps
  • Partner with senior leadership to enhance employee experience, employee relations, team design, emerging/high-po development, Hybrid policy implementation
  • Execute the day-to-day responsibilities of the HR function, including salary and new hire administration, reporting, and tracking
  • Critically analyze current HR programs and, partnering with the HR leaders, design, develop and implement changes to drive continuous improvement
  • Connect and build relationships with other HR professionals across the agency network to ensure alignment and use of best practices

Qualifications:

We’re looking for required skills, and they can come from any combination of education and experience. Diversity of thought and background are encouraged. Typical qualifications include:

  • 10 plus years of generalist HR experience; creative agency experience preferred
  • Proven track record in successfully implementing HR programs
  • Demonstrated strategic and creative thinking, with strong influencing, problem-solving, mediation, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to build relationships with all levels of employees
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, matrixed environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong presentation skills
  • Agency (Digital, PR, Advertising), billable environment, or service industry experience helpful
  • Bachelor’s preferred, PHR or SHRM certification

The salary range for this position is $170,000 to $190,000. This position may be bonus eligible depending on individual employee performance and Ketchum business performance. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, education, years of experience, past training, skills and abilities of applicant, internal equity and local geographic market data. A range of medical, dental, vision, 401(k) matching, paid time off, and/or other benefits also are available.
