As the Director of Human Resources at Airgas, you will be a pivotal member of our team, responsible for providing expert guidance and strategic leadership in various HR domains. Your role will encompass workforce planning, talent acquisition, associate and labor relations, engagement, learning & development, and succession planning. You'll serve as a trusted partner to the regional leadership, driving organizational effectiveness and fostering a positive work environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Develops strong trusted partnerships with business leaders, acting as advisor and partner in the areas of organizational effectiveness, workforce planning, talent management, career development, and succession planning.

Consults and advises regional leadership and associates on associate relations issues. Ensures awareness in the areas of compliance with employment laws.

Supports associate onboarding process, ensuring effective execution by managers. Works closely with hiring managers and Talent Management with a focus on successfully integrating and retaining new associates.

Actively engaging in associate retention initiatives and activities to reduce turnover and enhance the overall associate experience.

Supports the administration and compliance of HR policies and programs. Ensures compliance with state and federal statutes, laws and regulations including but not limited to all applicable wage and hour laws, and regulations related to FMLA, OSHA, EEO and ADA.

Contributes actively to the development and implementation of overall HR strategy. Act as a change agent in identifying opportunities to improve the overall workforce and HR process effectiveness to enable business strategy and results are achieved.

Understands and translates business strategy to deliver effective HR services that support the overall business goals and objectives.

Minimum Qualifications:

Required Education/Certification:

A Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, HR or related field.

An HR related certification (i.e. PHR, SPHR).

Required Length & Type of Experience:

A minimum of 7 years of experience in an HR Generalist leadership role with an upward career pattern.

Experience supporting field based operations, overseeing talent development, succession planning and performance management programs required.

Established track record of success in matters related to managing human resources in a mid to large sized manufacturing and/or distribution company with remote locations.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Demonstrated understanding of HR principles and practices, employment laws and regulations, and effectively leading comprehensive ER Investigations.

Significant customer service orientation, responsiveness and follow through.

Ability to collaborate and influence at a senior leadership level to effectively support behavioral and organizational change.

Experience with Google (Google Sheets, Docs, Slides and Gmail) and MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook), and Power BI

Experience with the “Workday” HRIS system is preferred.

Travel required: 25-35%
