Program Sr Director

Our work depends on a Surface Navy Combat System Program Senior Director joining our team to support the Program Executive Office for Integrated Warfare Systems (PEO IWS) activities in the Northern Virginia and Washington DC areas.

As a Program Senior Director supporting PEO IWS, you will be trusted to bring together a multi-disciplinary team that is geographically dispersed to provide engineering planning, design, integration, installation, and test of Aegis Combat Systems (ACS) onboard ships post-construction and during maintenance availabilities. In this role, a typical day will include:

  • Plans and develops methods and procedures for implementing program, directs and coordinates program activities, and exercises control over personnel responsible for specific functions or phases of the program.
  • Collaborating with Government customers, stakeholders, and corporate partners to ensure timely and efficient installations of ACS both afloat and ashore.
  • Coordinate with Fleet Commanders and subordinate commands to support the warfighting readiness of deployed ships.
  • Support Growth/Business Development activities within the Navy and Marine Corps Sector
  • Reviews reports and records of activities to ensure progress is being accomplished toward specified program objective and modifies or changes methodology as required to redirect activities and attain objectives.
  • Controls expenditures in accordance with budget allocations.
  • Your success will be measured through successfully managing the contract schedule, meeting specified financial goals and developing beneficial customer relationships.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

  • A degree in Engineering or related discipline/experience is required. A master's degree is desired.
  • A US DoD Secret security clearance with eligibility for TS/SCI is required.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent is required.
  • Over twenty (20+) years of experience working within the US Navy Military-Industrial complex.
  • Over five (5+) years direct experience as a Program Manager (Navy or Corporate) of a major program valued at over $100M
  • Over two (2+) years direct experience in the engineering, installation and/or operation of the Aegis Combat System onboard US Navy ships or Aegis Ashore.
  • A proven record of successfully executing large Navy/Marine Corps contracts
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of the larger GDIT Navy and Marine Corps Sector
  • A demonstrated intimacy across the Navy/Marine Corps major stakeholder organizations and in particular an understanding of the relationships between NAVSEA, PEO IWS and the Fleet Commands is required to perform this role.
