Today, we are recruiting for a Rolling Stock Project Manager to join our team in Egypt. This is an excellent career opportunity for professionals looking to join a truly international team in one of the biggest projects of Siemens Mobility.

What are my responsibilities?

  • Build relationships and maintain constant communication with customers, contractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Consult with customers on requirements and technical solutions, together with the project team (local and headquarters) and partners.
  • Coordinate overall planning of the project and decide on allocation of resources.
  • Monitor delivery milestones and adherence to budgets, and initiate actions to minimize non-conformance costs.
  • Coordinate onshore testing & commissioning activities with customers and other stakeholders including definition of verification/validation/testing strategy and train certification.
  • Manage taking over of trains including documentation with customers and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure relevant payment milestones are adhered to together with the commercial PM and team.
  • Contributes to contract and claim management and implements respective strategies within the project team.
  • Liaises with the Rolling Stock project management team continuously.
  • Manage and develop all Rolling Stock onshore project staff including ramp-up of local testing & commissioning specialist teams.
  • Adhere to PM standards, act according to Business Conduct Guidelines (e.g., Code of Conduct, Tax regulations, Export Control, EHS), and establish a culture of trust and integrity within the team.

What do I need to qualify for this job?

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in project management within rail industry.
  • Certification from a recognized project management institute.
  • Ability to demonstrate leadership roles in projects with >10 team members, including references to achievements and successes and overcoming challenges.
  • Expert knowledge of project planning, structuring, risk management, stakeholder management (both internal and external), and contract management.
  • Fluency in both written and spoken English.
  • Experience within the mobility sector and with the delivery of new rolling stock is a distinct advantage.
