The Work

The Manager of the Ship Integration and Test Domestic Projects group, duties include:

  • Lead a team of project specialists and engineering aides who support the development of technical data packages, test procedures and special studies for the Aegis Shipbuilding, Aegis Modernization, Aegis Backfit, Aegis Ashore, LCS, and SSDS Ship I&T programs
  • Support emerging proposal and program capture opportunities
  • Budget and manage SI&T Capital and IR&D funding allocations
  • Manage emergent customer and internal LM special projects
  • Staff the group with qualified project specialists and support personnel to address the needs of current US Ship Integration and Test contracts
  • Work closely with LM's NAVSEA customers, PEO Ships, PARMs, systems’ managers, OEMs and shipbuilders to assure optimal system design and installation
  • Resolve issues associated with installation and test of all Aegis combat system elements

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in related discipline, with specialized leadership training, and/or demonstrated capability through previous experience and education to perform assigned leadership duties and responsibilities
  • Minimum 8 years of experience with at least 3-5 years working with Naval Combat Systems
  • Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills, and leadership skills; ability to determine strengths and needs of all subordinates and assign work to suit

Desired Skills:

  • Master’s degree from an accredited college in related discipline
  • Prior experience leading matrixed teams in a Hybrid environment
  • Familiarity with AEGIS Combat System, Military Specifications and Standards and other ship system designs.

Possess a strong process focus with the ability to recognize opportunities for improvement and drive required changes

Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Clearance Level: Secret

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
