As Hyperautomation Manager you are an important part of our Global IT function, the role resides within our Enterprise Architecture & Data Platforms (EADP) organization and specifically within

Hyperautomation team, your peers are the Product Owners of the automation capabilities. 

The program is uniquely positioned for success in this organization since it owns and operates infrastructure and solutions for complimentary capabilities required to accelerate Hyperautomation, such as Enterprise Architecture, AI/ML, Analytics, Middleware, and Data Platforms. 

The Hyperautomation program delivers the value through enterprise capabilities such as Robotic Process Automation (RPA), Process Mining, Workflow and Process Automation and Artificial Intelligence (AI) including Generative AI (GenAI). 

As our Hyperautomation Manager you are responsible for the delivery and operations of these capabilities with your newly forming team of 8 FTE in Hyderabad. You ensure there is a highly motivated, business value-focused, empowered, innovative and cross-skilled team in place that builds and maintains the platforms. 

This team will be collaborating with Operating unit and Functions around the globe in a Hub and Spoke delivery model where our (Hub) team owns the platforms, delivers enterprise grade use cases, and enables and supports Spoke teams delivery of their specific use cases. 

To ensure we can deliver at scale this team works closely with the Product Owners, Architects, technical leads, and our preferred technology partners to ensure our platforms and services align with industry best practices, architectural strategies, and Medtronic’s standards. 

A Day in the Life

  • Recruits and grows the best talent in the market related to Hyperautomation. 
  • Manages experienced professionals who exercise latitude and independence in assignments. 
  • Provides tactical and / or operational leadership and coaching. 
  • Manages delivery of initiatives with an Agile mindset and framework. 
  • Understand and use standard tools, processes, designs, and methodologies for Agile project management, documentation, system development, and implementation. 
  • Innovates and drives change management - transforming the individual automation capabilities towards a synergistic solution approach where the sum is greater than its parts. 
  • Pro-actively collaborates with CoPs/ CoEs/ PODs across the globe to share best practices and ensures guidelines, guardrails are followed (Hub and Spoke model). 
  • Implements continuous improvement mindset and methodologies to increase platform value, quality, stability. 
  • Ensures platforms are meeting Service Level Agreements by creating and implementing operational processes and solutions to ensure high availability, quality, and customer satisfaction. 
  • Communicates with internal and external customers and vendors regarding ongoing operations. 
  • Decisions impact program schedules, levels, allocation of time, material resources, expenditures, and funds. 
  • Manages budget for the team ensuring adherence to AOP (?Annual Operating Plan), suggests and implements cost efficiencies. 
  • Partner with the broader Enterprise Architecture & Data Platforms organization to analyze: 
  • Enterprise business drivers to determine corresponding change requirements
  • The IT environment to detect critical deficiencies and recommend broad-based solutions for improvement.
  • Related technology industry and market trends and determine their potential advantage to or impact. 
  • Works with and advises stakeholders, project teams, and peers in areas assigned on project needs and design. 
  • Partner with the Enterprise Project Management Office to ensure alignment and execution of plans with project deliveries. 
  • Ensure Medtronic's systems and information are protected in accordance with Medtronic's Information Protection Policies and Standards.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

  • Provides leadership for those involved in the development, design and optimization of one or more information technology and systems functions supporting company business processes and technical information systems platforms.
  • Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, analysis, selection and modification of enterprise systems, application software, installation of network hardware/software and database management.
  • Provides direction for the effort required to protect the company's data, tools and information systems.
  • Ensures infrastructure architecture standards maximize efficiency and support platform compatibility.
  • Usually requires subject matter knowledge of user group for practical application of system characteristics.
  • Coordinates delivery of services to user groups and ensures IT service is uninterrupted.
  • Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.
  • Work experience in the Medical Device Industry, or other regulated industry

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Master's degree in computer science, engineering, data science or related disciplines
  • 17+ years of IT experience with a bachelor’s degree or with an advanced degree. 
  • 7+ years of managerial experience, preferably within a Process Excellence & Automation team.
  • 10+ years of experience as a technologist with hands-on deployment experience within solutions such as RPA (Automation Anywhere), Process Mining (Celonis), Machine Learning/AI (Microsoft Azure), Process and workflow automation (Microsoft Power Platform)

  • Able to work independently as well as cooperatively. 
  • Broad knowledge of enterprise Integration platforms (e.g., WebMethods). 
  • Broad knowledge of enterprise data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Microsoft Azure ML (Machine Learning)). 
  • Strong verbal and written communication in English. 
  • Effective communication skills, including with employees, clients, senior management, and vendors. 
  • Solid presentation skills, including the ability to translate data concepts and technical information into business terms (e.g., ability to explain complex technical solutions and architecture strategies to non-technical resources). 
  • Strong results orientation (driving to deadlines, financial targets, project goals, etc.) 
  • Ability to work collaboratively and partner with employees, leaders, clients, and vendors. 
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a global, virtual organization.
