Job Summary:

The Manager implements census development strategies and quality program for the Rehabilitation Hospital. Responsible for the development and implementation of business and strategic marketing plans for the Rehabilitation Hospital that include: physician development, managed care and ACO initiatives, territory management, market assessment and exploration of new service lines. The Manager is accountable for the referral and admissions processes and workflows. Establishes and monitors results-producing relationships with internal and external referring physicians, case managers, social workers and payers. Educates team members and referral sources about rehabilitation services as related to industry changes, spe cific hospital clinical programs, clinical outcomes and appropriate patient referrals/admissions. Provides leadership and oversight to the referral/admissions team and direct supervision of the Referral Liaisons and Admission Navigators. Develops and implements systems to track, trend and analyze referral workflows and activity and reports monthly results to Rehabilitation Hospital leadership. Responsible for the operational efficiency of the Quality Program. The Manager oversees the work of the Clinical Quality Coordinator (PPS Coord and CDS) which includes quality assessment and improvement projects, data analysis, public reporting, and regulatory readiness for Joint Commission, CARF, and other accreditation surveys and patient safety. In collaboration with the Director, the manager designs and implements programs for Rehabilitation Hospital which support the enterprise Quality, Patient Safety and Performance Improvement strategic plan.

EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION:

A minimum of three (3) years of experience progressive experience in healthcare administration and/or quality improvement is required.

A minimum of 3 years of experience in CQI (continuous quality improvement), Lean, Six Sigma or Performance improvement is preferred. A minimum of 1-3 years successful leadership or coordination is preferred. Clinical background as a Registered Nurse, Physical Therapist, Speech Language Pathologist, or Occupational Therapist, especially in a post-acute care setting is strongly preferred.

EDUCATION DESCRIPTION:

Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing or related healthcare field required.

Master's Degree preferred.

SPECIAL SKILLS DESCRIPTION:

Knowledge of managed care and physical rehabilitation required. Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills. Ability to analyze business development opportunities and work in a self-directed environment. Ability to work collaboratively with members of the marketing and liaison teams to achieve established referral goals. Skills in forecasting, market-based planning, communications and public relations. Communication and interpersonal skills necessary to effectively interact with medical staff, administration, leaders and staff. Analytical skills necessary to critically assess educational, quality management, safety practices, review data and research materials to develop or enhance existing projects and programs for the community hospitals. Capable of providing education to healthcare providers on quality issues based on data outcomes or industry standards, Strong practical knowledge of quality improvement methods and their application at the functional level in a health care setting, working knowledge of multiple clinical areas. Ability to develop and facilitate quality improvement projects/teams utilizing various quality tools, i.e., Failure Mode Effects Analysis, Root Cause Analysis, PDCA, etc. Ability to travel as needed for developing referral network.

LICENSURE DESCRIPTION:

If currently licensed as State of WI Health Care Professional then it is required that that license be maintained.
