Daily responsibilities include:
- Analyzing solicitation requirements to prepare compliant proposal outlines and content.
- Collaborating with cross-functional, multi-organizational teams in planning and developing client-focused, winning proposals. Identifying and escalating potential issues as necessary.
- Actively contributing to proposal strategy and solutioning sessions.
- Developing written proposals that are compliant with solicitation requirements and delivered on time using Changeis standard processes and templates.
- Creating original content (strategies, solutions, technical approaches) and tailoring existing content (past performance, resumes) to meet all requirements and communicate win themes.
- Translating complex technical information into clear and compelling narrative that can be understood by a non-technical audience.
- Participating in color team reviews, deconflicting reviewer feedback, and addressing feedback during recovery.
- Editing and performing quality assurance on both draft and final products.
- Maintaining proposal templates and an organized, searchable proposal library.
- Supporting other operational and corporate initiatives such as creating white papers, participating in strategy and information sessions, developing presentation materials, and providing writing and editing support to client-facing consultants.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, management, marketing, journalism, or related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in proposal, technical, or business writing.
- At least 3 years of experience in government contracting industry.
- Proven expert-level writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Understanding of technical concepts and ability to communicate them clearly and effectively.
- Familiarity with proposal development processes and Federal procurement processes.
- Ability to use standard English writing styles and structures to write proposal sections; this includes the ability to research and synthesize information from multiple sources (subject matter experts, previous proposals) into a cohesive, easy-to-read, and persuasive final product.
- Ability to edit proposal sections for structure, content, and messaging so they are easily readable, understandable, and compelling to the potential client.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills; ability to interact with all levels of personnel.
- Able to balance multiple proposals and tasks to meet deadlines. Adaptable to evolving requirements and deadlines.
- Advanced user of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel), including Word styles. Experienced with Microsoft Teams and SharePoint.
- Detail oriented and quality focused.
Bonus Qualifications:
- Ability to develop proposal graphics that clearly convey concepts in visual manner.
- Desktop publishing/document formatting skills to maintain document styles and maximize readability.
- Formal training and/or certification proposal processes and best practices (e.g., Shipley, APMP).
- Certified Project Management Professional (PMP).
