BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT:
The United Nations World Food Programme is the world’s largest humanitarian agency fighting hunger worldwide. The mission of WFP is to help the world achieve Zero Hunger in our lifetime. Every day, WFP works worldwide to ensure that no child goes to bed hungry and that the poorest and most vulnerable, particularly women and children, can access the nutritious food they need.
WFP is working with the Government of Ghana to accelerate the attainment of its vision of self-reliance beyond aid, articulated in the Ghana Beyond Aid (GBA) and the Ghana COVID-I9 Alleviation and Revitalization of Enterprises Support (Ghana CARES) Obaatanpa Programme. Through the Country Strategic Plan (2019 to 2023), WFP is supporting national development with an integrated food systems and nutrition programme which hinges on private sector participation in the prevention of malnutrition, transformation of agricultural value chains, strengthening of social protection programmes and strengthening early warning, disaster preparedness and response systems. To further harness its collaboration with the Government of Ghana, the World Food Programme is transitioning into its second edition of its multi-year Country Strategic Plan (2G-CSP) from 2024 to 2028.
The second generation CSP will further reinforce the ‘enabling’ support that WFP has been providing to the government of Ghana, specifically through four thematic pillars: Nutrition, Food Systems, Social Protection and Emergency Preparedness and response.
ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the direct supervision of the Deputy Country Director, the incumbent will provide support with the conceptualization of ideas and characters that creatively articulates the 2G-CSP, including flagship initiatives/activities captured in its strategic outcomes, through storytelling, to enhance visibility, advocacy and resource mobilization. The incumbent will be responsible for the following:
DELIVERABLES AT THE END OF THE CONTRACT
PowerPoint presentations (CSP presentations, donors, thematic SOs), briefs, infographics and reports (evidence generation, CSP, thematic SOs, donor-centric), Awareness and sensitization raising materials
(posters, fliers etc.)
Education:
A master’s degree (recognized by https://www.whed.net/home.php) in the field of Computer Science, Graphics, Visual/Creative Arts, Communication, Journalism Photography, Fine Arts or a related field OR a first university degree (recognized by https://www.whed.net/home.php) in the same disciplines with additional years of work experience and or training/courses related to Creative and Motion Graphics

Experience:
A minimum of Five (5) years of post-graduate professional level experience in graphic design, animation, and multi-media projects, using a variety of graphic design software, tools, and methods
Languages:
Fluency (level C) in English Language.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
This is a When Actually Employed (WAE) Consultancy Contract. When Actually Employed (WAE) consultancy is offered for a series of sporadic, non-continuous, assignments within a given period of time, whereby the consultant will be called upon when his/her service is required, and paid at the agreed daily fee.
