A pivotal commercial leadership role with a geographical responsibility for Levant area within the Fragrance & Beauty division, and a key member of our F&B Consumer Products North Africa & Levant Commercial team, based out of our Amman office - Your future position?

We are looking to hire a ‘Sales Manager’ for our Fragrance Consumer Products Commercial team for the Levant area, with a team to lead and manage in Jordan. The role will be based in our Amman, Jordan office and report to the Sales Director North Africa & Levant. You will build and lead your Sales team, develop and execute a business plan across our various Consumer Products categories and target key customers in the assigned area to achieve Givaudan’s purpose and commercial objectives.

In this exciting position, you will be responsible for:

Strategy & Leadership –

  • Actively participate in the design of the business strategy for the Levant area.
  • Build and implement a growth strategy for the Levant area, coordinating the elaboration of strategic plans for Key Accounts.
  • Build an inclusive and creative environment in which all the team members are motivated and can contribute to the best of their ability.
  • Foster a culture of empowerment, sharing, and accountability.
  • Lead and manage the Levant team, and coordinate the activity of the Key Account Manager’s and other support teams.

Business Management –

  • Develop a thorough understanding of the business potential in the Levant area.
  • Grow the business in the Levant area – both existing customers and hunting for new customers/business.
  • Monitor the area’s sales and gross profit margin, taking corrective actions when necessary to ensure business goals are achieved.
  • Monitor competitor activity.

People Development –

  • Lead the area Sales and Commercial support teams and manage their performance and development.
  • Groom and prepare talent for roles with larger responsibility.
  • Work with key Business stakeholders and HR Business Partners to develop local talent pipelines.
  • Train and coach team members.

Customer Relationship Management

  • Develop partnerships with key customer accounts, including relationships with their senior-level management.
  • Identify and create opportunities for the organisation to participate in all core lists and key customer briefs.
  • Debrief projects with the Account Management team to understand successes and failures; identify and execute corrective actions.
  • Ensure implementation of negotiated pricing agreements.
  • Support the customer care team in managing and optimising the supply chain.
  • Support the credit management team in collecting receivables.

Your professional profile includes:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline.
  • 8+ years of relevant work experience in Sales, Key Account Management, or Business Development role(s) in the Fragrance/Ingredients/Specialty Chemicals/FMCG industry sector, preferably in a multinational work environment.
  • Have a strong people management track record of at least 2-3 years in successfully leading mid-sized, winning Sales teams.
  • A strong passion and appreciation for the world of fragrance.
  • Good knowledge of customers, competition, and an existing customer network in the MEA region will be ideal. Experience in other Developing countries or markets will be advantageous.
  • Excellent oral and written proficiency in English and Arabic.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply strategic planning, budgeting, and forecasting skills to develop account plans.
  • Strong commercial and business acumen.
  • A team player with excellent interpersonal skills and comfortable with diversity.
  • Able to travel frequently in the Levant area and other sites in SAMEA as required (~40 of the time).
