CME Group is currently looking for a summer intern for the Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) Department.

This candidate will assist the GRC Department team members with day-to-day activities and on special projects. The GRC Department is responsible for corporate compliance, regulatory compliance, information governance, data privacy, records management, third party risk management, enterprise risk management, and Board reporting across CME Group. The role will contribute to internal projects and enhancements related to current processes.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Assist with data collection and analysis, documentation, and ad-hoc projects related to governance, compliance, and risk management topics.
  • Analyze data in connection with regulatory requirements.
  • Complete point-in-time third party risk assessments.
  • Support CME Group’s effort to develop innovative enhancements by suggesting ideas that improve internal processes.
  • Assist with maintaining the control and policy libraries.
  • Assist with efficiency and robotic process automation efforts.
  • Assist and support Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) team members with additional special projects.

Skills / Software Requirements:

  • Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Office and Google Workspace products.
  • Effective problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to understand and absorb business & risk concepts quickly.
  • Ability to work with individuals at all levels within the organization.
  • Passion for learning new skills, technologies, and passionate about conveying knowledge.
  • Robotic Process Automation skills preferred.
  • Experience in financial markets (e.g. exchange-based, OTC, FCM, brokerage house) preferred.
  • Knowledge of derivatives, trade lifecycle, clearing, risk, or post-trade processing preferred.
  • Tableau experience a plus.

Education:

  • Actively pursuing a bachelor’s degree.

Other Requirements:

  • Local to Chicago.
  • Hybrid Schedule - able to come into the CME Group Chicago office (located at 20 S Wacker).
  • Able to work 40 hours per week (interns are required to work a minimum of 16 hours per week with a maximum of 40).
