The main missions of the role are to:

he role of a Commodity Buyer is to structure the building of a supplier panel for one or more commodities and ensure the overall productivity of the panel. The main missions of the role are to:

• Structure the building of the panel: participate in the definition and the implementation of the purchasing panel policy for assigned commodities, manage supplier selection according to Group criteria
• Panel management: ensure a regular follow-up of the supplier performance in relation with the Supplier Quality Assurance Manager and implement a supplier¿s reduction plan consistent with Divisions and in coordination with the Business Groups
• Manage the global suppliers productivity in relation with plant buyers
• Develop and implement tools to improve global productivity
• Negotiate and implement general agreements with the main suppliers
• Ensure the utilisation of the panel by program and plant buyers
• Ensure the reporting of his or her activities following defined policies
• Other tasks assigned by team / Manager

Qualifications :

The ideal candidate will have/be:

• Masters degree in engineering with a specialisation in international purchasing 
• Minimum 3 years experience as a Commodity Buyer in an industrial environment 
• Results orientation with strong written and oral communications skills 
• Ability to work in a matrixed organisation 
• International mind set, overseas experience a plus 
• Bi/multi-lingual (English required)
