PRIMARY PURPOSE
The Vice President of Communications shall serve The Navigators and fulfill the responsibilities listed below in the spirit of The Navigators calling, values and purpose: To advance the Gospel of Jesus and His kingdom into the nations through spiritual generations of laborers living and discipling among the lost.
This position will provide vision, mission, purpose, and strategic leadership for internal and external communications to amplify the ministry of The Navigators, to know Christ, make him known, and help others do the same. The VP of Communications will work collaboratively across departments to translate the priorities of the Executive Team and National Leadership Team into impactful brand position and communication strategies for a diverse audience, including staff, missions, ministry partners, the church, and the public.

MINIMUM AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Spiritual: Belief in and adherence to the Statement of Faith and Mission of The Navigators. Be a maturing disciple of Jesus Christ: knowing Christ, making him known, and helping others do the same.
Experience: Minimum 5 years of senior communication leadership experience. Minimum 5 years leading a communication team with measurable achievements and outcomes by bringing teams and functions together to achieve organizational strategic goals and objectives. A proven track record of collaborating at a C-suite level and developing strategic plans that sets direction for all internal communications with the ability to set clear direction and driven results.
Technical Knowledge & Skills: Microsoft Office proficiency.
Communication & Leadership: Excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skills including verbal & written, to create understanding and build strong working relationships, and to facilitate negotiation, problem solving, decision-making and delegation required.
Education: Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in communications, marketing, journalism, or administration preferred. Field-related ministry knowledge, skills, and experience required to successfully perform the responsibilities of this role. Significant theological acuity and financial acumen.
Compensation Range: $125,000 - $135,000 / annually
