Overview of the role

The Williams-Sonoma Supply Chain Product Management organization is seeking an energetic Lead Product Manager to drive high-value, high-impact functional features for our industry-leading supply chain organization. This role will be the functional subject matter expert for warehouse automation (ASRS/Sorter/ MHE) and related warehouse management and warehouse execution systems (WMS/WES). At Williams-Sonoma, we support six of the retail industry-leading brands: Williams-Sonoma, west elm, Mark and Graham, and the Pottery Barn family. This role will work across the entire functional domain of all the brands.

The ideal candidate would have the product experience to effectively influence/participate in business engagement, strategic planning, roadmap development and decisions to ensure we deliver high value and high impact scalable solutions in an incremental fashion, unlocking hyper-growth, data-driven decision making and creating a world of possibilities for our customers/business.

Responsibilities

  • Lead product strategy and roadmap development for highly automated, parcel distribution center operations including automated sourcing and retrieval systems (ASRS) goods to person picking and pack out
  • Collaborate with Business partners, engineering teams and program management to drive business value for parcel operations.
  • Drive meaningful business engagement catered to the unique nuances of each business team and leader, and that builds credibility and trust
  • Assist in continually improving the product management organization and making it a great place to work
  • Develop an understanding of the adjacent critical WSI systems and processes including OMS, transportation, logistics and final mile
  • Perform other duties as required including travel.

Criteria

  • 8+ years of overall experience in supply chain product management or operations for parcel warehouse automation; ASRS (automated sortation and retrieval systems), Sorters, MHE (Material Handling Equipment) and related warehouse management and warehouse execution systems (WMS/WES).
  • Retail Industry Background and experience with warehouse conversion to new systems and technology that require onsite training and hyper-care support.
  • Experience with unit picking of conveyable product type fulfillment models
  • Experience with Warehouse Automation (Sortation, Goods to Person Picking / ASRS, Material Handling Equipment)
  • Experience authoring effective JIRA stories for functional requirements, detailed acceptance criteria and prioritization with delivery teams
  • Experience writing functional use cases that are aligned with end user expectations. Submit data requests required to execute test cases and obtain end user sign off (UAT).
  • Drive functional backlog prioritization and lead various requirement discussions for product enhancements.
  • Effectively partner with Operations and technology delivery teams & QA teams through gathering detailed requirements, presenting the business value, documenting requirements in JIRA and Visio process flows.
  • Provide production level support for Operations and technology partners for operational go-live and ongoing deployment validation of new functionality.
  • Data-driven and metric-based approach to prioritization of functional enhancements or defects. Ability to quantify impact, ROI, etc.
  • Experience with Manhattan warehouse management systems (WMS) and other providers warehouse execution systems (WES)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and organizational skills.
  • Strong presentation skills with demonstrated experience in making articulate and effective oral presentations to different audiences.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including such areas as team spirit, negotiation, collaboration, pitching in where needed, valuing and respecting individuals irrespective of seniority levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with external technology vendors.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently.
  • Experienced in sharing industry best practices and innovation within your domain and across supply chain
  • Ability to work collaboratively and influence others within a matrix environment.
  • Ability to develop and foster constructive business relationships and gain their trust.
  • Demonstrated ability to anticipate, mitigate, and resolve conflicts across technology and business partners.
  • Proven experience in developing and executing projects, meeting deadlines and operating under tight time constraints.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and calculated risk-taking
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business or related fields, or the equivalent work experience.
