As an R&D Wet Process Development Engineer within our Technology Development Group in Boise, you will be responsible for the development of new processes to enable current and next-generation integrated circuit devices for NAND, evaluation of new hardware platforms and process chemistries, performing fundamental research, chemistry development, and generation of intellectual property relevant to the company. 

In this position, you will contribute to wet process technology roadmap updates; work with Micron engineers and vendors to develop processes that meet device requirements for future NAND technology nodes; transfer processes to pilot production and high-volume manufacturing facilities. Additionally, you will also improve existing processes and enhance process capability, productivity and efficiency.

Required Experience:

  • Good understanding of wet processing and/or chemistry experience in academia and within the semiconductor industry or related fields.
  • Proven background in materials science and/or organic/inorganic chemistry.
  • Strong knowledge in one or more of the following areas: Transport phenomena, Plasma, Atomic/Molecular Physics, Surface Chemistry, Reaction Engineering, material science, and plasma engineering.
  • Knowledge of integrated circuit processing and semiconductor devices.
  • Have a fluent understanding of surface and analytical characterization techniques such as ICPMS, TOF-SIMS, XPS, SEM, TEM, etc.
  • Proactive approach to problem/project management and good problem-solving skills.
  • Effective leadership and teamwork skills to collaborate with others, both one-on-one and in a team environment, and to effectively coordinate, prioritize, and manage time.
  • Ability to lead projects of significant importance to support technical innovation in areas such as process or product application that can be delivered across the manufacturing fabs.
  • Enable solutions to address key wet process related yield/defectivity issues and improve overall module health.
  • Ability to define area specific roadmaps and drive roadmap activities by working closely with chemistry vendors or equipment suppliers
  • Experience generating and delivering presentations and reports.
  • Strong interpersonal skills both verbal and written.
  • Intrinsic motivation to take the initiative to work independently.
  • Working knowledge of data analysis systems e.g.: JMP to facilitate analysis of experimental data.
  • Working knowledge of Design of Experiments (DoE).
  • Thorough characterization of all unit processes in owned module. Develop solutions or drive activities to close technology gaps to meet module requirements specs.
  • Prior wet processing and/or chemistry experience in academia or within the semiconductor industry or related field

Minimum Qualifications:

  • M.S. or Ph.D. degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Material Science or related fields
