R&D Project Manager

You will be working as R&D Project Manager at global grade 13 and will be part of Electrification business for Distribution Solutions division based in Bangalore, India. In this role you will be reporting to R&D Team Lead and will be responsible for developing or creating products, systems, services or technologies for ABB´s business units by leading and managing the execution of one or more R&D projects to meet project targets. Coordinating work of local and cross-functional project team. Leading in partnership with local business managers, steering groups, product management and external parties and ensure value creation.

Your responsibilities

• Leading local and cross-functional projects with limited complexity or sub-project of a complex project as responsible for all elements of the projects
• Managing the project team allocated to the project, defining, with key stakeholders, the scope of work, cost / budget, resources required, time schedule and detailed work allocation
• Ensuring project follows sound methodology and execution practices in accordance with standard ABB internal directives and procedures
• Identifying, containing and reducing risk. Ensuring appropriate handling of change requests
• Using own technical domain knowledge to provide technical support to colleagues or other functional teams
• Ensuring understanding of customer value. Taking into consideration requirements and demanding coming from customers and from different ABB functions (sales, supply, production, etc.)

Your background

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in electrical or electronics engineering or equivalent
• Require 8+ years of relevant project management experience
• Working experience in software and hardware product development of power system domain
• Working experience in multiple and complex projects
• Good experience in defining project metrics and measures
• PMP or equivalent project management certification
