Introduction

Optimizely is looking for a passionate and dynamic Product Owner to lead strategic initiatives, focusing on specific product capabilities like audience builder and mutual exclusion, as well as broader customer challenges that encompass multiple features/flows/use cases (e.g. Free Rollouts Projects). In this role, you will articulate customer problems and requirements while contributing to the improvement of product operations. Operating mostly within a single domain, you will work autonomously with one team or multiple small teams, making a significant impact on our product strategy and execution. Job Responsibilities

Soft Skills:

  • Effective Communication: Strong presentation skills; adept at explaining complex issues clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences (both verbally, e.g. in backlog refinement/planning/project kickoffs, and in writing, e.g. in PRDs, stories, design docs, etc). 
  • Listening and Empathy: Open-minded, actively listens, and demonstrates empathy and compassion for colleagues and customers.

Leadership Skills:

  • Decision-Making: Makes informed product decisions aligned with business, technology, and customer needs.
  • Strategic Vision: Understands and articulates the "what" and "why" within the broader product strategy.
  • Mentorship: Guides and supports junior team members.

Process Improvement:

  • Problem Solving: Identifies problems in a project or team's process, and address them with minimal help from team lead, manager or PM. For example, improve how a team tracks their committed vs. completed sprint work. 

Team Collaboration:

  • ADEPT Collaboration: Works effectively with ADEPT peers to ensure project success.
  • Coordination: Collaborates with other Product Owners to streamline project completion, e.g. when a project overlaps another PO's area of ownership, or a new process is needed, or an existing process needs to be modified 
  • Cross-Functional Engagement: Builds relationships with peers in different departments (Support, Customer Success, Solutions Architects, etc.) for valuable customer insights.
  • Facilitation Skills: Leads meetings by setting the agenda, leading the conversation, building consensus, and driving decision making. 

Knowledge and Experience

  • Around 4-6 years of Product Managment experience 
  • Contributed to many shipped projects within their domain 
  • Has successfully led at least one shipped project within their domain 
  • Has successfully led an initiative to improve how we work as a product organization and cross-functionally with other teams
