The Chicago Office is seeking an Azure Intelligent Data Platform Senior Consultant to join our growing team. 

What You Can Expect: 

The Senior Consultant coaches Interns, Consultants, and facilitates the successful completion of project work plans. Serving as both role model and trainer, the Senior Consultant demonstrates the attributes of excellent client service and assists team members in developing technical and professional competency. The Senior Consultant learns to identify areas of risk and opportunities to improve efficiencies. Relationships with client personnel and professional associates strengthen as the ability to communicate, gain trust and network improves. At the direction of managers, the Senior Consultant may accept responsibility for decision-making, ranging from staffing and preparation of deliverables to application of methodologies.

Do Your Talents Include the Following? 

  • Ability to articulate the value of Business Intelligence solutions to customers and colleagues, and experience with data storytelling to guide decision-making. 
  • Familiarity with the process to formulate, communicate, and execute data strategies that align with organizational goals and objectives. 
  • Hands-on experience assessing existing data solutions, whether on-premises or in the cloud, to inform improvement initiatives. 
  • Some knowledge of architecting future state data solutions on Azure based on the Well-Architected framework. 
  • Exposure to planning and migrating data solutions from various sources, including on-premises, other cloud platforms, or legacy systems, to Azure. 
  • Hands-on experience implementing ETL processes and databases on Azure. 
  • Some experience optimizing existing data implementations, including pipelines, queries, and data models, to enhance performance and delivery of value to the business. 
  • Practice in administering and maintaining data solutions to ensure stability, security, scalability, and affordability. 
  • Experience with the essentials of data engineering, including data movement, data integration, transformation, and cleansing. 
  • Ability to contribute to the design and management of data warehousing solutions that optimize data storage and retrieval. 
  • Some skills in data modeling, including entity-relationship diagrams, dimensional modeling, and semantic modeling. 
  • Track record of creating engaging data visualizations and interactive dashboards. 
  • Proven ability to perform data analytics, including exploratory data analysis and leveraging data for actionable insights. 
  • Some experience with implementing data governance frameworks and policies, including an understanding of managing data assets. 
  • Understanding of data security practices, including encryption and access control. 
  • Basic knowledge of networking as it applies to configuring Azure data solutions. 
  • Some experience with of DevOps or DataOps concepts or experience with the deployment of Azure data solutions. 
  • Hands-on experience with SQL; Bonus for any familiarity with any of the programming languages utilized within the Microsoft Data Platform stack, such as Python, C#, Java, Scala, R, DAX, MDX, or M. 
  • Advanced certification is preferred (see Recommended Qualifications). 
  • Bonus: Implementation experience with Data Science and/or Machine Learning.

  • Azure Storage 
  • Azure Synapse Pipelines or Azure Data Factory 
  • Azure Synapse Analytics or SQL Server Administration and Querying 
  • Azure Databricks 
  • Power BI 
  • Git-based version control and deployments for Azure Data Solutions 
  • Microsoft Purview 
  • Microsoft Fabric 
  • Bonus: Azure AI tooling 

Your Educational and Professional Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree required 
  • 3+ years in a related field; preferably in professional services and/or industry 

Recommended Qualifications: 

  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate 
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Developer Associate 
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate 
  • Exam AZ-305: Designing Microsoft Azure Infrastructure Solutions 
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
