KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Bain Capital is looking for a Director of Global Investment Professional Learning who will drive and continue to evolve the learning strategy for our pre-Partner investment professional cohorts across our businesses. The role reports to Bain Capital’s Global Head of Investment Professional Learning, and is based at our headquarters in Boston (with the option to work remotely two days per week), joining our high-performing Investment Professional Learning team.

Day-to-day responsibilities:

  • Work with global investment leadership and heads of HR across the firm to:
  • Regularly discuss and evolve our investment professional learning strategy, to ensure consistency with business strategy and our broad talent strategy
  • Accordingly, regularly assess and prioritize our learning blueprint and activities
  • In partnership with investment professionals, subject matter experts, and regional talent teams:
  • Build and deliver world-class training programs for cohorts of investment professionals
  • Identify creative synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences to enhance skillsets and create opportunities for connection across our global businesses
  • Develop investment professional curriculum and author modules
  • Regularly collect feedback and draw insights to share with leadership to drive continuous improvement
  • Manage all aspects of budgeting, planning, and executing on global training programs, in coordination with Investment Professional Learning team members and regional talent teams
  • Stay up-to-date on our firm’s strategy and priorities, and the dynamics and trends across our industry
  • Provide support in managing and mentoring junior team members
  • Assist with other strategic initiatives related to investment professional learning across our firm’s platform

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, MBA preferred
  • Minimum 8 years of total work experience with at least 3 years in a senior Learning & Development or Talent Development role working with investment professionals or client-facing professionals in an alternative assets, financial services, or top-tier consulting firm, in a capacity that requires an understanding of the business
  • Experience leading strategic talent or L&D-related initiatives, as well as designing learning paths, developing curriculum, and running world-class training programs in partnership with the business
  • Able to anticipate, identify and deliver strong results in a fast-paced global environment
  • A demonstrated affinity to learn the business, strategy, and concepts in order to translate them into curriculum
  • Strong, professional communication skills (written and verbal) and an ability to work comfortably and credibly with our senior leaders
  • Strong project management skills, organizational skills, attention to detail, a passion to learn
  • Tenacious, resourceful, and can balance leading and being hands-on as required, in a team-based environment
  • Able to flex working schedule to accommodate global demand and a willingness to travel to global programs (approx. 1 week every 3 months, including international travel)
  • Solid proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook), surveying tools (e.g., Survey Monkey, Qualtrics, etc.), and familiarity with Learning Management Systems (e.g., Docebo, Cornerstone, etc.)
